Sara Lyn Chana
Sara Lyn Chana is a certified yoga and Pilates teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience. She loves to integrate mobility and functional workouts into her dynamic and empowering flow classes.
Sara’s passion for movement began during her nearly 20-year ballet career, where she developed a deep appreciation for the human body, alignment, and aesthetic movement. Although she chose not to pursue a professional dance career after high school, she completed her Pilates training while earning a double bachelor’s degree in Sociology and English.
After graduating, Sara embarked on a transformative nine-month journey across Asia, where she immersed herself in yoga for the first time. This experience inspired her to complete her 200-hour teacher training at Trimurti Yoga in Goa, India, studying multi-style yoga including Hatha, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa. She later deepened her studies with advanced trainings in fascia, Yin Yoga, and breathwork, culminating in a 300-hour certification in Rishikesh, India.
Alongside her yoga path, Sara maintained a strong connection to martial arts, particularly Muay Thai. Becoming a certified Budokon Yoga & Mobility teacher allowed her to consciously unite these two worlds—channeling her passion for traditional combat sports into an intelligent, embodied mat practice that balances softness, strength, and discipline.
Known as a self-proclaimed alignment nerd, Sara places great emphasis on precise, mindful movement. This passion led her to write Essential Yoga: Enhance Every Pose for Full-Body Mobility and Flexibility, a practical guide designed to serve as a foundational reference for students and especially yoga teachers seeking a structured, sustainable, and alignment-based asana practice.
Her classes blend her dance background, martial arts experience, and Asian heritage, weaving Far Eastern philosophy into the clarity and rigor of Western movement methodologies. The result is a practice that is both powerful and fluid—grounded in awareness, strength, and intentional progression.
Sara currently lives in Thailand, where she hosts annual Warrior Woman Retreats, combining traditional Muay Thai, Yoga, and Budokon practices. These retreats are designed to empower women to reconnect with their physical and mental strength while cultivating presence, resilience, and community.
