Hello Paula, This was the first class I've practiced with you and I wanted to say how much I enjoyed it. I came to it after some deep cleaning and needed a bit of a break before resuming my day. I found your regular prompts to listen to our own bodies for guidance on how to engage with the poses very helpful. I appreciated your gentle, calming approach. Warm wishes to you.

Thank you Paula—-this was such a lovely and relaxing class—-I have saved it as a favorite and will come back to it often. I’m wondering about the bolster on your feet when your legs are up the wall. At first I found it unpleasant, but stayed with it and the next thing I knew—-I was more relaxed than I ever had been. Is there some reasoning behind why this might occur with the use of the bolster?
Paula07.11.2024
Hi Annie, I’m glad you enjoyed the class! Re. the bolster on the feet, this is something I write about in my book, Rest + Calm. If you think about the idea of using a weighted blanket and how that can be soothing for some people, placing weight on the feet here - in this instance, a bolster but could also be something like a sandbag(s) if you have one - is a similar thing re. encouraging the autonomic nervous system into a rest state (hence feeling more relaxed), among other benefits. I hope this answers your question and thank you for practicing with me.
