In this Yin Yoga class with myofascial release, José gently guides you through a floor-based practice designed to support back health – particularly helpful if you experience discomfort from a hernia, lumbago, SI joint sensitivity, or chronic tension. Rather than pushing through pain, the focus is on building trust, exploring your boundaries, and letting go of the tension and fear that often surround physical discomfort. Using tennis balls for targeted myofascial release, you'll learn to meet sensation with awareness instead of resistance, creating space for the body to soften and unwind.
The class includes supported poses with gentle twists, bends, and subtle movements of the head and hips to release holding patterns in the neck and sacroiliac area. You’ll stimulate specific points in the back with the help of tennis balls — always guided by the principle that if a sensation is too strong, you adjust. This approach encourages deep release without force, inviting you to relax into the experience rather than brace against it. It’s a practice of listening, of allowing, and ultimately, of letting go.
