Do you feel you need a reboot? We start the class standing to loosen up the joints, and slowly work our way to the floor, relaxing more and more and holding poses for longer. All done with the intention to relax our vital nervous system. When you consciously connect to the support of the floor this makes you feel safe on a psychological and unconscious level. As a result the nervous system relaxes. We will practice everything while staying connected to the sense of being contented and relaxed. You'll feel like new.

Thank you so much Esther. This was really soothing. I am definitely taking with me that reminder of checking in with the ground beneath us and reminding ourselves that we are supported by the earth and by the universe. Ultimately we are always safe. On a side note, my husband was in the room where I was practicing and he listened to about 20 minutes of this class and before walking out of the room he said, "This is an amazing class, I'm relaxed just by listening to Esther" :)

Dear Esther- After a hectic 3 weeks, I could not get my body to relax in the seated forward fold- even holding myself upright with my arms behind me. I felt very agitated and tense during that section. Is it OK to do a standing forward fold for that section, or should I try a different sequence until my mind and body settle a little more?

Hi Kammy, standing forward fold is absolutely fine. Sometimes there is just a pose like that, always listen to your body and feel free to adopt to your need. x

This really helped calm my nervous system. However, if I may ask a question... I find breathing exercises especially counting breath makes me feel anxious and my nervous system activates again. Is there some way I could work with the breath so it’s more calming? Or maybe just be with how it is ? Thanks Esther.
