Dear Marlene, thanks AGAIN for another lovely class. Very nice how these "weird" exercises get me into a completely different state! Apart from the physical experience, could you tell more (or tell me where to find more reading) about the finger- and wrist movements? Is that what works on the heart meridian? And the tapping of the inner thighs...? Apart from that it is nice & grounding... where does it come from? Just curiosity :-) Thanks again for this lovely class!
Marlene27.01.2018
Hi Liselotte, Hahaha, right? A very nice book on mudras is Mudras in Your Hands by Gertrud Hirschi. Wrist movements work on the heart meridian. You can also check out Bernie Clark or Paul Grilley's work, as yin yoga works a lot with the meridian system. Tapping of the inner leg is for the liver, kidney and spleen meridians. All of vital importance to balance anger, fear and worry. All different aspects of stress. :) I hope this answers your questions. All my love!

Hi Sarah, thank you very much for your response! I only tried eft up to 10 minutes, I believe, maybe that's the reason, it didn't work. You're really courageous I find to meet all the uncomfortable emotions so consistently! After years of protecting myself, I'm beginning again daring to meet the uncomfortable emotions. You make me curious. Maybe I'll give it another try.
Gesine08.01.2018
You´re right. :) ;) Thank you very much for sharing your email adress, Sarah! :)

Gesine, it makes me so happy that my experience has inspired you to give it another try. I wasn't always this courageous but I'm definitely glad I embarked on this journey of self discovery. I truly wish you a wonderful journey yourself as you continue to go deeper within. My email is: sarahmaar101@gmail.com and I'm also in Instagram @seasaltandtea. Feel free to reach out if you ever feel like it. Just so we don't continue to fill this comment space with our conversations. ☺️ Sending you Light. Sarah

Dear Marlene, thank you for for this practice! The tapping was the most effective one for me. I have a question for you: Since many months, my body or subconscious doesn´ t feel safe to relax, even with doing yoga. This is very frustrating to me. So even the slightest release triggers me and I feel panicky (it´s because of a traumatic situation). Also when I tell myself that I´m safe now, it doesn´t work. I´m also so used to feel tensed all the time that I can´t bear to feel more relaxed. Can you please recommend me something? Should I do this practice every day for a while?
Gesine06.01.2018
Hi Sarah! Thank you very much for your suggestion! I am touched that you're trying to help me. I tried eft before, but it didn't have a big effect on me and I only tried it sporadically. Maybe I try it once again as it has such an effect for you and try the resources on the page you mentioned. Thank you again.

Hi Gesine, I understand your issue. I am very happy that Sarah had such a beautiful answer, because that is one of my suggestions too. EFT can really help a lot. And you inspire me to address this the next time I film at Ekhart. So thank you for that. The other thing I would suggest is that you simply stop pushing yourself to relax for a moment. But I would like you to meditate on where you feel the stress/panic most in your body? Can you write down for yourself what triggers you? And then as if you can see the process in slow motion, what happens. See if you can stay present, in the now, seeing yourself almost as a machine and your are looking into the mechanism of this issue. I'd like you to become fully aware of the step by step process and all the body parts that respond. Go into sensations, experience of yourself, but not your head. No reasons why. Then send love to these places, sensations. It will help to neutralise the energies. But also to understand the with our conscious mind, step by step that there is no need to relive the trauma. If you know all the little steps and workings, it will be easier to disperse. Working on both the subconscious and the conscious mind, as well as the energy body is where we can find healing. In addition you can do this practice and try the tapping. And I will make a video which which help deal with overcoming trauma. All my love to you. I hope this helps. All my love!

Dear Gesine, I know your question was meant for Marlene but I just wanted to share a technique with me that helps me soothe my subconscious mind and actually make it understand that it is indeed safe to relax. It's called tapping or emotional freedom technique. There are plenty of videos in YouTube explaining what it is and how it works. A book I read when I first ran into this technique was The Tapping Solution but they also have a website with wonderful resources so you don't really need to read the book to learn how to tap. I found this three years ago and I've been using it regularly since the . For me it's truly powerful. I hope it's a tool that can be of value to you as well. Namasté ??
Sarah06.01.2018
I meant, 'share a technique with YOU' not 'me' ☺️
Sarah06.01.2018
Gesine, thank you for your reply! I really hope EFT can serve you this time around. I remember when I first found it, I tapped for a couple of hours every day for a week. For me it works best when I do long tapping sessions, so instead of doing a couple of rounds and stopping, I go on and on and on tapping and saying out loud whatever comes to my mind. There are moments when I cry a lot and I let it all come out as I continue to tap. It's like a meeting with my subconscious. I go to my room, close the door, give myself that time and space to sit and talk with whatever is arising for me at that moment. Also, I don't know if you've already seen them but the Jeff Foster talks on this site are amazing, and what he says really helps me stay soft and embrace whatever comes up, all the dark stuff, the uncomfortable stuff.

Marlene I loved this set! Releasing stress is definitely something that would serve me at this moment of my life and I've committed to a 40 day practice of this set. I've never completed the 40 days I sometimes say I will do, but in the spirit of the new year and my word for this year being REST I will most definitely practice this for a while. Thank you always for continuing to share your classes here with us. Namasté

Very welcome Sarah, let me know how it goes. <3

That was a beautiful session, thank you.
Madeline09.01.2018
Thank you Marlene! I loved this set so much! During the shoulder dance, I can my breath get raspy and can feel it more acutely in my lungs and chest. Is this normal? Seems like maybe just the movement of energy... Wondering what it means!
Marlene27.01.2018
Hi Madeline, Unfortunately it is very difficult for me to say. If somehow the movement of the ribcage is causing this change in your breath it may be that there is some misalignment in your thoracic spine. But you should feel this during twists or side bends as well, if that were the case. On an energetic level, it could be that you have stored some density in this area that is in need of release to return to easy flow. If it feels ok to be doing this movement, then I would say practice it more often. If you feel it may be physical, then it might be a good idea to have it checked by an expert. All my love!
Alexandra06.01.2018
Thanks for this! I wonder whether it would be helpful to add a wee description of the fire breathing on the session’s brief? Also, could you perhaps explain a but the action/purpose of the mudras and tapping that specific area of the leg? Namaste, have a beautiful new year!
Marlene27.01.2018
Hi Alexandra, Thank you for your questions: The index finger is representing expansion and wisdom, transcendence. The ring finger represents health and vitality. The thumb represents you. So you are connecting yourself to these energies. The breath is like breath of fire but with O-shaped mouth and mouth breath. Tapping of the leg is for the liver, kidney and spleen meridians. All of vital importance to balance anger, fear and worry. All different aspects of stress. :) I hope this answers your questions and sending you all my love.
