In this strengthening practice – where you might like to use some added weights but it's optional – you will strengthen your legs, core and arms, which is essential for your yoga practice and also for your overall health. Please note that you can do most of these exercises without weights if you don't have any. The class consists of simple yoga poses that we repeat with the option of using weights. Expect to work hard and sweat!
Props: a pair - or a few pairs, if you have different sizes - of weights and 2 blocks.

Hi Gemma, I loved your calm energy and this way of doing strength training. I have a question. Doing the bridge pose (I did it without weights) I got really tired in my shinbones (I don't know if that's the right word, but the front of my legs below the knees). I've never felt that before doing bridge pose so I guess it has to do with having the feet on blocks. Is it a good thing or should I take away the blocks? Thank you for a great class!

Thanks, Gemma - that was great. I've been meaning to do some more strength training and that was just the right length and intensity to keep repeating and perhaps adding on a few more reps. Would love more practices like this - either the same length or shorter or longer. Thanks again!
