excellent, really helped my back but it was a bit rough on my wrists. I've had surgery on both thumbs to remove an arthritic trapezium, which make it extremely difficult to push the weight forward to the the base of the index.

Thanks for sharing, dear Alicia! I'm glad to hear this class helped your back! Considering you've had surgery on both thumbs to remove an arthritic trapezium, I'm not surprised that the class was rough on your wrists though. I'm sorry to hear that - and I do hope your wrists will feel better soon. In case you're revisiting this class: you might want to experiment with different hand positions. For some people, it helps to let the fingers point slightly outwards (in that case, the thumbs point more or less forward). For others, it helps to make fists (thumbs on the outside) and place those directly under the shoulders. And for other people, the best option is to place the forearms on the floor instead. I hope you can find a way that works for you! Love, Irina

Dear Irina, thank you for this lovely class and these alternate positions for the wrists. I had a hand injury a few months ago and am grateful to be mostly recovered, but it was very helpful to have these options. Alicia, I hope you’re recovering as well. Peace and love, Valerie

I've been struggling with flare ups of my herniated disc and associated issues for 5 years. Your comment to pay attention to what is going on with sciatica symptoms, not just what feels good and stretchy, was very helpful. It took me a long time to realize that many of my favorite poses were making things worse, especially because I had developed asymmetric weaknesses. Your instructions are appreciated!

Hello Irina, thank you for this practice! I've been searching for the silver leg you mentioned, but neither search button nor your classes came up with a result. Isn't it sill on the page? Or would it be possible if you direct me to that one from here? all best,

I wish I had had this class 3 years ago when I herniated two discs after slipping and falling heavily on my left hip! Yoga helped restore me then, and this practice is a great strengthening tool even now.

Hi Willemina, To be honest, I couldn’t do any yoga for a while after I injured my back (slipping on wet grass and falling hard on to my hip!) although going weekly to an osteopath helped enormously. Sciatica pain was the main ongoing problem. Pigeon pose actually gave me a lot of relief initially. Any class that concentrates on the lower back helped as I regained more movement. It probably took me 9 months to get back to full yoga fitness and, now, nearly 4 years later, I have no residual symptoms. This class is great: https://www.ekhartyoga.com/classes/1296/yoga-for-lower-back-pain-and-sciatica Good luck!

Dear Helen, could you help me further with the other classes that helped you to restore your herniated disc? Much obliged!
Willemina21.04.2023
Dear Helen, thank you for replying so soon! I’m trying for 2 years now and not really sure what helps and what doesn’t. I will look at your suggestion. I’m happy that you recovered fully!
Irina09.01.2023
Aiii... two herniated discs at the same time sounds painful for sure! I'm glad to hear that yoga helped you to recover back then, and I'm happy to hear that this practice is helpful even now. Thanks for sharing, Helen! x Irina
