Thank you David for sharing this ever so powerful message. It moved me so deeply that I had to stop back up video and listen over and over. Blessings to you and Gratitude for your gentle, easy to understand way of explaining this amazing freedom available to all of us.

Knowing that my attitude is in need of a bit of an adjustment right now, Esthers hata class "internal attitude yoga", felt like a good option today. As this video was mentioned in the introduction to the class I thought I would check it out and perhaps get even more from the asanapractice by getting my mind going in the right direction first. I know that what you speak of is true. My attitude towards reality determines how I feel. They both change, of course, but the only one I can apply some control over is my attitude, so I work with that. Some times it feels like too hard work, but giving up on that job always leads to an even more tiring situation. More than anything my yoga practice, with its continuous drops of philosophy always mixed in with the asana practice by so many great teachers here, has thought me just this, my attitude sets the tone for my day and my life. I have also come to realise and experience how different life feels, how different I am, how I let surroundings determine my state of mind, even perception of self and my very nature. In short, who would not like to have the feeling and attitude one has, say on holiday when the sun is shining as opposed to any given rainy day when everyday life seems like it is going to get the better of you. Freedom to choose, oh yes, that can only be sweet. Even if it means facing some facts about oneself and making adjustments rather than place blame.

Thank Anne, what you say is perceptive - the work is not always easy but worth its weight in gold.

Very beautiful talk, thank you so much David! So needed to practice this, living in this fast world with many 'dominating and pushing' people. To stay by yourself and try to be and react without judging.... So nice in combination with Esthers class based on your talk.

Many thanks Armande. Go well in these fast & turbulent times. David

I felt a smile come across my face when you said "we are essentially only practicing one posture" and wondered what the explanation would be. I love the idea that we are practicing the posture of the yogi, creating that space inside. Thank you David

Thank you Jo! Love the image of a smile appearing...

Thank you David, great talk, I might have to buy the book, you mentioned and have a read of it. I can resonate with your talk..one posture... making space....compassion and kindness is the way I choose to make space.... and never believe you are above or below anyone, keep a humble spirit.....

Thanks Michelle, lovely words for your making space. I highly recommend Frankl's book.

Thank you, David! During my last year or two of yoga, I am starting to feel how the practice is leading to this inner freedom, inner responsibility, chosing something and letting go something else....it does not mean that I am always capable of chosing right and realizing this inner freedom I have, but hopefully, I am coming closer.... I alkso thought that the word "last" in Victor Frankl's definition could be also "closest" if it makes sense... Thank you and EKhart yoga again for teaching us!

Thank you, good to hear your practice is bringing this.

Thank you for sharing! I like your idea/experience that sometimes we choose our responses and sometimes they choose us.
David26.01.2018
