Turning the body upside down puts us in a position where it's easier to exhale. This in turn deepens our inhale as the body receives the message that all is well. Use the 'great rejuvenator' to combat stress, anxiety or tiredness and speed up recovery from illness. Use it to help asthma and bronchitis, reduce congestion in the lungs and drain fluids. Also great for sleep difficulties.

That was just lovely. Have overstretched one of my hip flexors and am consequently in a lot of pain when moving so can't do my usual yoga at the moment. Missing it a lot, so this was the perfect calming, restorative practice for me.

I did this session yesterday while recovering from a migraine. It was very helpful. Are there any somatic exercises that can help migraine recovery? Yesterday I did a few very gentle movements to release tension in my neck, head, and eyes. Then this session afterwards was wonderful! Thank you!

Dear Nicola, Migraine is an interesting one as there are so many factors that are involved and so many ways that it manifests. Gentle work that releases the head, neck, shoulders and TMJ are usually good if that contributes to your symptoms. You will need to experiment yourself just as you did recently. I don't have any specific migraine classes up but do try all the head,neck, shoulder, upper body ones. Delighted it helped. Blessings, Lisa
