Hey Jennilee- thanks for a great class! I struggled at times to find the joy and serenity I love in yoga; I was a bit of a gym bunny when I was younger and adding weights to my practice seemed to put me back into a competitive 'gym head'. Any tips on keeping the ego in check - would love to explore weights and yoga in some other classes. Thanks for bringing your fab energy into my living room :o)

Janet:) SO good to see the ego...thats a big part of yoga! Not the yummy blissed out part of yoga per se but SUCH an important aspect...yoga and the space in which to see ourselves:):):) I send love to that Gym Bunny...I love the gym! I started teaching yoga this winter at a local gym and I realized how much I love the culture (I have been working out at the gym on and off since I was a teen:) I am not a fan of the competitiveness but I am in love with the gathering of people who come to gather to be to be strong and healthy:):):) AND HAPPY!!! HEART HAPPY:) Enjoy your muscles and moving on this earth with incredible ease and grace...such a treat to be strong, vibrant and healthy:):):)

I've done this as part of the Spring into Strength programme just a few days ago. I think it's about time I confessed - the main reason I joined the programme was because I saw you were also teaching! I can't describe how much happiness you bring to my soul whenever I am fortunate enough to be guided in practice by you. You have such a calming and joyful presence that makes yoga utterly delightful. But back to this video... I was very limited on resources when doing it, so only could get my hands on 3kg weights, which meant I had to be mindful at all times to not cause injuries, but I just listened to your cues and it turned out lovely in the end. While I did feel it the next day, I also felt a sort of strength in my body I hadn't had for a long time... out of curiosity, I tried a full Chaturanga into an Up Dog sequence - and for the first time, I was able to do it and not struggle through! Can't thank you enough for this. It didn't just make me stronger, it made me more mindful and accepting of who I am, whilst also encouraging to play with limits I had previously set for myself. I wish there were more words to convey my gratitude to you. Namaste!

That was fun - feeling stronger was just what was needed this morning. My weights are the wrap around kind so I only took them off for the leg / hip exercises. Great advantage to having heavier limbs, especially during supine twist! Thank you Jennilee!

Excellent! Very brave of you to incorporate the dumbells - and very inspiring. I am going to suggest to my classes that they allow me to introduce the dumbells - if anything to help them with their yoga. Would be lovely to see more yoga with these weights. A few of my students have just found out they have osteoporosis - this would be so beneficial for them. Thank you again.

Great class! I recognised some Pilates movements? I think the way you utilise the weights is terrific and I will look for the other classes. My balance is not great though I did well up until Warrior 3! but it was a combination of balance and a tired leg...i assume I need to build both balance and strength little by little. I have a question: on the lounges when the right knee does not go over the right toe as the lower the left leg lowers to the ground, this depends a lot on how straight the back is...I am correct? I am being ultra careful as I got osteoarthritis on the right knee, and my lower back also complains if I don't keep it in neutral. I feel I am re-educating my body as I get older! Any advice will be most welcome! Thank you! Teresa :)

Hi Teresa!!! You can always step in a little closer, keep the spine tall, and just bend into the back knee:) And yes it a continuous process...I find I have a new body (with new aches) every day!!! Then after yoga good as (almost) new:):):)
