Hi Marlene, thanks for another beautiful class, really needed this reminder to be kind to myself. So important, yet so hard. I love all your classes and would love to do some 'live' workshops with you. Thank you so much for this lovely yin class. Finally, I got to experience again the liberating feeling of a really, really deep breath... The mermaid pose worked wonders for me today, true release and opening of the hips and perineum. Do you have any other yin-style class you could recommend to further help that...? I would be so grateful. Thanks again!

Hi Jessica! I am very happy to hear it. I do find Mermaid pose quite good actually for releasing the hips in this way. There are many sorts of hip openers in yin, I also love doing a twist variation where you have the bottom leg straight and the top leg bend, and then stepping onto the foot of the bend leg, so the knee goes up towards the ceiling. With your hand you can gently guide knee further away from the body, helping you to create space in the hip. Of course this works on glutes and spine as well :) And of course Bananasana, but I do feel gravity really helps you more in Mermaid. Let me know how you do! &lt;3
