Thank you for this. Your instructions are amazingly clear to follow. Would you consider filming classes on the BMC developmental patterns? Or a sequence on cellular breathing?
Elina31.12.2018
Thanks for the invite Lisa, I would love to join, I'm not able to as it is, but maybe someday! Will follow a livingyoga newsletter and make a new years wish for embodied anatomy classes to the Ekhart staff. Happy new year!
Lisa07.12.2018
Hi Elina, you sound like a lady 'in the know'. I would certainly consider that for the next time I am over. I am not sure how they would go down with the general Ekhart tribe. In the meantime if you fancy a deep dive there's a whole training starting in January that takes us down the rabbit hole. You can come play on one or more modules. www.living-yoga.ie/teachertraining if you're interested. Sorry for the promo. So many folk have said before 'if only I had known...' so I'm trying to get my anti-marketing ass in gear.

Thank you, dear Lisa :)

Thank you so much Lisa! Its always such a pleasure to practice with you <3
Rick02.12.2018
Hey Lisa, I've been doing the cat stretch routine off and on for a few years and have been very rigid about the original sequence I learned. The value of this class for me was the permission to experiment with that sequence. Thanks for that!
kamlyn03.07.2020
Thank you so much Lisa! I loved that :-) Namaste

Thanks Lisa, what an amazing class- sequence just perfect for a Sunday day and in preparation for the Somatic Education Movement assessment the coming weekend is Dublin , this session helped me to sense more that dialogue of different parts of my body and definitely easy in my body. This also helped me to consolidate some of the somatic principles, such a beautiful practice, namaste

Wishing you love, peace, fulfilment and wild leaps of fun in this brand new year Lisa. Thank you for a delicious simple practice to start my last day of the year.

A bit confused with the cue into the ‘bow leg’ movement...it looks ‘knock knee’ on my (small) screen...could you explain a little more as to how the leg rotates/bends in this piece. Thank you
Michelle13.09.2022
thank you lisa, just what my body needed today.
mary05.06.2019
Hello Lisa I really enjoy somatics and your style of teaching; My yoga practise has changed and deepened since my first meeting and somatic workshop with you in Melbourne. I get so much benefit from the seated spinal twist however my left hip is very unhappy when I sit with my left leg back, I have tried propping the knee on a blanket, and sitting on a blanket dosen't seem to help. Do you have any suggestions please? My love to Ireland to by the way. Namaste Mary
Lisa19.11.2019
Hi Mary, sorry for the long delay in replying. I have just flagged this. Greetings to all in Melbourne. I miss you folks. It is one of my favorite places to teach. I can imagine how your practice has deepened. From your description, it sounds like we might need to go in to more detail than we can do here. How about you email me and we can go from there? Or send me a short video so I can see which twist you are referring to. In general, when a student of mine has trouble doing something, I help them explore these sorts of questions....a) what sort of benefits am I deriving from this pose? b) how might I get the same benefits from a different shape? Or is there another shape from which I can get the same benefits? It can be really freeing to experiment outside the box. You have all the skills you need. Especially now that you can sense and feel yourself from the inside out.

Dear Lisa -- I have been following your videos for a couple of years now (as has my mother in India!). It has been transformational for both of us. Absolutely love your teaching style and the profound ripples and implications of the somatic approach you embody. I am on the verge of completing a 200-hr teacher training in the Bay Area, and am exploring ways of deepening my understanding and experience with somatic approaches in yoga. While I would LOVE to attend your teacher training in Ireland, it isn't feasible for me to travel that distance at this time. Do you have any recommendations for similar trainings in or closer to California? Deep gratitude for your commitment to the deep wisdom that lies within, and for the generosity and joy with which you share this path with the world! Wishing you all good things -- Pavi
Lisa22.05.2019
Hi Pavi.Delighted you and your mum have a common interest. Well done on taking the 200 hour journey. I appreciate that CA to Dublin is a bit of a long haul. You could try my friend James Knight locally (and say hi from me!). I can highly recommend him. James is also a yoga teacher so that might be a particularly good fit for you. The other person you could check out is Martha Peterson - another friend and colleague doing very good work. And of course the Mothership for Somatics is local to you too. It is the Novato Institute. Basically it's a somatics hot bed over there. Lucky you.

I thoroughly loved this gentle Somatics practice feel so relaxed after it.
darlene27.08.2019
Really enjoy your classes, when do you think you will be making some new ones?
darlene06.09.2019
Hi Lisa, well I wanted you to know you are missed, and I do hope healing is happening as you like! How kind to ask! I would love a class on getting up and down stairs smoothly should you need any ideas :) thank you so very much and speedy healing to you! dar
Lisa30.08.2019
Hi Darlene, that's sweet thanks. I have something physical I'm dealing with at the moment and it stops me from filming and demonstrating but not from teaching thankfully. So hopefully soon is the answer! What would you like to see more of in particular? Put your vote in and I'll do my best.
Eline13.11.2019
Hi Lisa, When you are filming again could you provide us with a gentle wake me up class 20 min or so? All the best. With ❤️ and 🙏, Eline
Eline22.11.2019
Hi Lisa, I would prefer a gentle somatics class. X
Lisa19.11.2019
Hi Eline. Absolutely. Would you like a gentle somatics or yoga class? x L
Eline04.11.2019
Hi Lisa, Thank you very much for this/ your classes. Hope to see you back in good health soon. Love, Eline

That was fantastic and very relaxing thank you
Helen25.10.2019
Beautiful practice Lisa, thank you so much.
Yvonne07.03.2022
Thank you Lisa. The class was exactly what I needed today. I have not done a somatic class before. I have chronic fatigue syndrome and it seems that a somatic approach might be very helpful.
Pamela19.03.2020
Thank you, Lisa! I've studied, taught, and practiced Hanna Somatics for 7 years now. I enjoyed your class very much; your voice quality and pacing is so conducive to deep sensing. I appreciated all the fulsome pauses between your concise and articulate comments. Thank you!
LINDA19.08.2021
Hello Lisa, I love this class and keep on coming back to it, especially when I feel I need a more therapeutic approach to practice and then this naturally goes on to inform my teaching. I have a question about lying flat, myself & many of my students can't do this easily placing the head flat without feeling dizzy. I suggest a low level support and wonder if you could give me your view what is best practice with this in mind. Many thanks, Namaste.
Lisa23.08.2021
Hi Linda, glad you are enjoying a varied approach to your practice. Certainly use a low level support or cushion or folded blanket or anything that provides ample support and comfort for you all. I would investigate the dizziness question however. It is rare enough in a simple lying position (we do it in bed every night after all even if we have pillows), but if it is an issue for you and for your students, it's definitely worth questioning why. Best wishes, Lisa
Lisa23.08.2021
Hi Linda, I'm delighted you're finding a varied approach to practice works for you. Certainly use a pillow, blanket, cushion or anything that offers supports. If both you and some of your students experience dizziness in simple lying however, I would investigate that. It's rare enough (we do it every night when we sleep - even though we have pillows). Maybe consider your sequencing or pacing and what might be causing group dizziness?
Fiona19.08.2020
I enjoyed this class and have done others taught by you in the past, but I did feel I came into it a little 'out of the cold' as I hadn't seen or done the shorter sequences that apparently lead up to this one. Perhaps referencing the previous classes in the introduction would be useful? If I'd known, I'd have done those first... as it is, I look forward to revisiting this class again when I've found and done the others as hopefully I'll get more out of it. :-)
Femke12.03.2020

Respect to you for this video
Ted27.12.2020
Thank you Lisa. Which sequence/class is best for the trauma reflex? Thank you
Lisa31.12.2020
Hi Ted. I have a class called Sideways with Somatics which would be great. Also Breathe More: Stress Less, and a side rolling shoulder release sequence which is heaven. Put my name into the site and look for the tag 'Somatics' to see them all. Happy practice.
