David and yin? I had to double check, did not see this one coming :-) My bad. I guess I have come to see you as the rather energetic guy you often describe yourself to be. Perhaps we have both been slightly wrong? :-) I can not testify to your wife being the worlds best yin yoga teacher, but I have practiced A LOT of yin over the years, with different teachers, and if you and this class is anything to judge by, she is pretty darn good! I enjoyed this class very much, David! Even if I certainly adapt, adjust and take away my own thing from any class I take the teacher plays no small part in it. I found your teaching and instructions to be spot on, no surprise. I guess you have taken mellow to a new level with this :-) I wouldn't put it past you to make even more yin videos, but if not, this one is good for a second or a 23rd go.

I've been waiting for this class for a long time. I am always hoping for yin classes for me to do in between yang, so I was intensely happy to have chosen yin for today, it turning out to be a very dark, rainy day in Cape Town and it is David, but yin! YAY! Seems serendipitous! xxx

Hi David, thank you so much for this class. Acceptance of our current situation is very challenging during this moment of COVID-19 pandemic, but this class really helped me find a more chill space and be grateful to have somewhere safe and peaceful to shelter in. If Janu Sirsasana just doesn't work for me as a Yin posture (my knees hyperextend and it's uncomfortable even with props/modifications), could you recommend something else as an opening pose? Thank you!

Yes, for me too, acceptance is VERY ADVANCED YOGA! As an option... how is it to do Janu Sirsasana at the wall... the straight leg up the wall with back on the floor and bent knee out to the side? If that doesn't work, how about butterfly with props folding forward?

? Ironic that my talking is part of the 'quiet acceptance' class ... When I watch yin/ restorative classes, I often worry the video is frozen if there is no talking, so I was compensating ... Glad you could focus!

I liked this class, its great for my crowbar-like lower back for I am the '90 degree forward bend man' :). But I felt progress, Ive done 3 minute yin poses, but now Im sold on 5 minutes.

Hello Siddhisvari, Glad you enjoyed the class... Intention is everything! If you practice in the morning, your body will be 'less receptive' but could offer great benefits through the day. If done in the evening, your body may take to the poses easier but perhaps the day runs through your mind?!? So.. fully up to you and both would be great.

Thank you David. What a great class. I love yin classes that hold poses for longer - truly beautiful. The message helped me later in the day when being at the dentist…my body all tense in this state of anticipating possible future pain. Suddenly, the words “Quiet acceptance”… came into my mind and from there on I danced between tension and relaxation. The teeth cleaning became my practice…towards the end I realised how much focus it offered me. Thank you for the inspiration.
