In this peaceful, relaxing practice, we combine Qigong with Yin. We start standing for the Qigong exercises, to cultivate and move Qi within and around us. We then move to the floor for a powerful breath exercise, before practicing some Yin backbends and twists. This is a lovely, grounding session to do in the evening.

I loved this class, thank you. Question; I have never heard encouragement to fall asleep during yoga, rather remain consciously relaxed?
Marcel07.01.2021
Hi Mary Jo is this a comment or a question? if it's a question do you want to know why I say it or something else? For me falling a sleep bring a deep physical relaxation, when you have to stay consciously relax some people struggle to hard, in asana practice my goal is either to strengthen the body or totally relax it, both with the idea that your Qi can flow freely through your body. So I say this aswel for those who fall asleep but like you mostly hear the comment to stay conscious, then when you fall as sleep it could be that you think you did something wrong... However when e meditate I will never encourage you to fall asleep! but... being a functional yoga teacher, everyone has to do what feels best for them, so if staying conscious and more or les concentrated works best for you that of course is the thing to do for you!

Thank you for this class. Cat tail pose is a challenge for me...do I focus more on the shoulders on the ground or keeping the forward knee down? Sadly I can’t do both! Trying to figure out how to do it but keep the twist and keep it comfortable enough that I could possibly consider a nap! Thanks!

Nice! I love the way you transitioned from lizard to cat tail. It is sometimes difficult to get students into the correct position for cat-tail and this way worked easily for me. Thank you!
