So good to go back to basics! Chaturanga used to be so hard and then I just started getting it right and now flow easily into it, but it is good to just check in to the fundamentals once in a while. xxx

Simple but fundamental! After so many years of not being able to do a proper chaturanga - I stop my elbows at 110 degrees just before my upward facing dog - and watching uselessly hundred videos about the subject, my frustration is fainting but now I have some hope. I will regularly practice this course. I am wondering if the use of weights might help. Your weight courses are so useful. Is this a suggestion?…. Thank you Jennilee! You are wonderful!

Thank you so much Jennilee!!Many years yoga and only know I understand how to work with the feet to go from chaturanga to upward-facing dog!! This was brilliant!!

Thank you Jennilee, I've been meaning to do this class for over 2 years now and finally did! I find it a challenge to do this pose despite practising regularly for several years. Often a bit dismayed my arm muscles aren't better! Question: when I transition from downward dog to plank pose I always have to adjust my feet backwards. Should I change my dog pose to place my feet further back or doesn't it matter?
Jennilee21.04.2022
Hi Paula! I am happy to tell you that my answer is going to help make our arm muscles stronger! YAY! In order to not have to move your feet in that transition (down dog to plank) you can make your down dog longer (hands farther away from feet). An easy way to find this length is to find your plank and then press back to down dog from there. This "long" down dog asks more of your upper body and core (strengthwise). Have fun experimenting!

Thanks so much Jennilee - such clear instructions. After decades of believing I'm practising yoga, I'm beginning to understand the fundamentals and to do so with a new integrity, alignment and build strength! I've decided to take your classes (& some other wonderful Ekhart offerings) instead of the drugs prescribed for osteoporosis. I think I've over relied on my hyper-mobility rather than engaging the muscle. Good to feel the difference.
