Meru Danda is the Sanskrit name for the spine, our physical and energetic support for the body.  In this practice we take the spine through its range of movement, combined with awareness of the flow of energy through the central subtle channel.  Meru Danda mudras direct energy from the base of the spine to the crown of the head.  Please have a bolster or pillow to hand for sitting comfortably.

That was very therapeutic...a few clicks as I moved but a very visual sequence as I moved through it, too. Thank you.

That was, quite frankly, amazing! I woke up feeling achy with an unsettled stomach and wanted a quiet, gentle practice. I got exactly what I needed but even more wonderful is that when I did the mudras I felt the energy flowing into my stomach and the symptoms seem to have cleared. How extraordinary! Many thanks indeed.

“Thank you Lynn…a very nice calm. soothing practice and in particular the Meru Danda mudras its effect is amazing. I do have a question... is there any reason you take that seated position? I would prefer to sit cross legged and so I did but curious as to the effect on the poses that followed. Om Shanti 🙏🏻”

Hi Teresa, thanks for your comment and glad you enjoyed the Meru Danda mudras. Please feel free to take which seated position you are comfortable with. It is more important to be at ease and comfortable. I like to sit in Vajrasana as the front of the thighs give a nice space to place the hand mudras on. Namaste and love.

What a beautiful experience.... absolutely unique. This must have been the very first time I 'succeeded' to meditate. At the end when you said something like 'no need to breathe because of prana' I was surprised to notice my breath flow was indeed absent for a short while. Just waited till my body needed air, as you explained. Heard you breathing again that moment also, that felt safe. Simply wow. The way you guided us through the chakra's and got us back was amazing. Thank you Lyn. Om Shanti!
