The first reference to a posture in the yoga tradition (Patanjali's Yoga Sutras) refers not to any standing posture or balance but simply to your seat - your seated position. This practice uses different postures and movements such as variations on Pigeon posture and head to knee posture to encourage open hips for free movement and a comfortable seat.

Mission accomplished. Hips dont lie, they say, but they are certainlycapable of holding on to some secrets... This practice felt so de-stressing and relaxing I actually fell asleep after, flat on the floor. This has never happened to me before and over the past 8 years there have been enough classes to give me that option, you might say. Really enjoyed it and will for sure repeat. Thank you so much, Andrew!

Andrew, this class was just fantastic - thank you very much! Gentle yet strong, no acrobatics and yet the postures made me work really hard. Just what my hips and legs needed! Thank you.

Thank you so much Andrew for this wonderful practice! It was just what I needed today :) I also liked how you emphasized sitting on the cushion in a locust pose or cross legged for when you are sitting at the computer or whenever! With gratitude, Marti

What a wonderful start to my week. Thank you so much for helping me find a more comfortable seat. I’ve finally found a good use for that low cork block That has been lurking in my sitting room for at least four years. 🙏🏻❤️

Hi Andrew...great practice for the hips...they are indeed very happy! I have a question which I hope you can answer...in pigeon pose when you get to lift your arms above your head (minute 36) is this because you have strong quadriceps? good knees? good hip flexors? all of these and more? I cannot do it; left side better than the right but I still cannot get my arms above my head so need to support with my hands. Would really like to hear your views. Thank you!

What a great practice. Thank you Andrew. I've never been able to get into full pigeon, but I can modify. I just don't think my knees would take it if I took my hands off the floor!

A relaxing but intense session. I mainly sit in a chair or cycle so hip opening postures are great, even though my arthritic knees and anteverted femoral heads limit me a bit.
