can you explain why you said don't do abdominal sit ups or crunches; not even Pilates style??

Hi Katrina! Most people's conception of an old-school 'sit-up' or 'crunch' involves a fast movement which, over a period of time, could hurt the low back & neck. I have no problems with a very slow, controlled rolling up & down, feet glued to the floor, heels about a foot away from the butt, deliberately rounding the back and reaching thru the knees - what you might have in mind when you say 'Pilates style'.
