Wondering whether your hamstrings will ever become flexible? You don't have to pull and strain; instead, embrace your body the way it is now and let it open gently. Appreciate the calming qualities of forward bending, followed by some Pranayama where we work with breath retention (if retaining the breath makes you uncomfortable, please go back to normal breathing). You will need a belt, perhaps a blanket and a block.

Nice calming practice Francesca. I'm not that flexible in forward bends and using the strap around both feet allows me to abduct the legs gently against the resistance of the strap...which lets me go a little deeper into the forward bend. Also in supta padangusthasana with strap around right foot I can abduct the right leg against the resistance of the left hand on the strap. The gentle isometric engagement of the abductors seems to allow me to safely fold a little further. It works too in uttanasana using the resistance of the floor.

I found this looking fora yin yoga session. While I wouldn’t say it’s yin, it did help me immensely mentally. I’ve had a lot of self-doubt recently, but this class was a gentle reminder that my body has much strength in it. I just need to trust and ease into it, instead of expecting strength to be there just because I want it to be. It was a lovely session. Thank you.

We enjoyed this! When you were describing the pose with the Sanskrit name near the end... it made me think it would be fun if EkhartYoga had a series of classes with the teachers speaking in different languages...just for the fun and beauty of all the variety...and since the yoga poses are often described in Sanskrit names I bet we would all keep up quite well..and if not... be fun trying. :) Just a random thought...world house is represented so well in the yoga studio here, English doesn’t always have to be the language the classes are taught with. Anyhoo another cool class!

Thanks Francesca for this slow practice I also prefer not to use the word stretch there’s so much more going on in the body The pranayama at the end was also welcome too I love your very natural way of teaching Much love

Thank you for the lovely ‘extending’ practice & so helpful to feel the movements in terms of extending not stretching. I enjoyed the different way of practising alternate nostril breathing too. Thank you, Maggie
