The adrenal glands produce adrenaline and cortisol, the stress hormones. If you are experiencing long periods of stress, these glands become depleted, leaving you feeling fatigued and exposed to a variety of long-term, stress-related symptoms. Doing this set regularly will help you revitalise these glands and combat built-up stress.

thank you for this great, relaxing class. the last movement, which i really was struggling with, really brought a big effect. I concentrated on the emotion and energy I want to let go, and the energy shifted. great, and helpful class, thank you :)
Marlene24.08.2016
Good to hear Annemarie, it is intense I know. But it does the job ;) <3
Annemarie10.07.2016
perfect for me! experiencing a quite stressful summer-season, working in tourism, this should help. I am also on medication with cortisol and medicine for thyroid gland, and sometimes i feel, with all this action from outside, the hypofuntion turns in a hyperfunction. I look forward to take this class :)
Marlene14.07.2016
Hi Annemarie, this should be great for you. Let me know how you get on. When done regularly for some time, you should feel the effects quite clearly. <3
Hayley20.08.2016
Wow! Ekhartyoga suggested this class for me . . . how you knew I was stressed I dont know! A sign from the universe. Then . . half way through the last arm movements I burst into tears and then hysterically cried for ten mins. My husband found me crying in savasana! Feel much better after that and now with my green tea :-) x
Marlene24.08.2016
We have a sixth sense here ;) I am so happy to hear that this practice did so much for you. Relaxing and grounding after your experience is important. <3 Marlene

Hi Marlene! Started my holiday with this, thank you!! The last movement built a lot of heat in my chest-area, throat and lower face, leaving with a tingle in the mouth and relaxed feeling. So very interresting! Will try it again. :)

Laura15.09.2016
I have had a couple of extremely stressful weeks at work. This class helped re-focus me. The movement at the end was so hard - my shoulders were BURNING - but I pushed through on determination, and I found that the burn eventually subsided and the movement became almost enjoyable by the end. Thank you.
Marlene25.10.2016
Good to hear Laura, I hope work is letting up a bit. Thankfully we have these tools to help us through. <3
Renee18.02.2018
I can attest to how powerful this class can be, even within just a few repetitions. More than a year ago it brought me back from the worst case of burnout I had ever had- and now again, I've returned to it and paired with my adrenal support tincture...Im feeling myself again. Thank you for this amazing class! LOVE practicing with you, Marlene! <3
Renee05.10.2016
Doing this class several times per week has made a huge impact on my held stress—and ability to flow with new stress as it comes. Each of these Kundalini classes regularly have me feeling like i've glimpsed more of my own potential and its just wonderful. All your classes are the best thing ever Marlene! Thank you xx
Marlene25.10.2016
Wow, that is really something! I am so happy you are finding dept in the practice. It is truly magical. Love to you!
Jamie11.05.2017
Thank you so much for this. Some things are definitely stirring so I'm going to do this class more and see what comes up. I experienced a lot of random anxiety during the rolled tongue breathing, which was especially intense when I was making a point to look up into the third eye. Any thoughts as to what might be going on there? Something related to that chakra, maybe?
Marlene11.05.2017
Hi Jamie, thank you for your feedback. I feel there could be a couple of explanations for what you are experiencing. There could be just the newness of it, and your body doesn't recognise it and therefore gives you anxiety. It could be a little deeper than that too, that your subconscious feels threatened by the potential of expansion of awareness that is being triggered by this practice. The indication that you give that the anxiety became more intense by focusing on the third eye, does make sense in that regard. My advise would be to be gentle with yourself, don't push yourself and meditatie on: It is safe to grow and to discover my full potential. Maybe use this affirmation for a while and see if the anxiety settles. <3
Cecy03.11.2018
Wow! I feel great! Thank you, Marlene!
Anita10.07.2016
Hi Marlene The burn in the shoulders was quite intense for me for the last set. Feel refreshed!
Marlene14.07.2016
I know it get be though, but it's a sort of a breakthrough movement. :) But of course always respect your body. <3
Helen23.07.2017
One day I hope to have your endurance, Marlene! I have been recovering from a cold and feel very weak in general. I'm going to keep practicing this and see what effect it has on me.
Annemarieke17.08.2016
Thank you Marlene, a lively practice. Struggled with the last breathing practice but then I have been painting my kitchen for the last 3 days. However I will persevere with this one as I did enjoy the energy it created.
Marlene24.08.2016
Hi Annemarie, I know it is a bit challenging. You can always do a lighter version :) we never want to create tension. <3
Nicole10.07.2016
Thank you for this lovely practice. It helped become more balnced. How often should I practice this class in order to help balance my hormones?
Marlene14.07.2016
Hi Nicole, 2 or 3 times per week should be enough to start with and then when you begin to feel more balanced you can do it 1 time a week for maintenance until it's really no longer an issue :) Let me know how you get on. <3
Alison27.07.2016
Thank you Marlene. I love your classes and voice..very gentle and calming. I was a bit bothered with the belly breath folding over a flexed leg as I dont have the flexibility to forward fold very much at all and usually sit on a cushion to sit up straight in other classes......I think I must have been rounding ?? Anyway loved the class .. Might ask Esther to do a gentle programme to focus on improving flexibility specifically in this area . Xx
Marlene15.08.2016
Dear Alison, Thank you for your comments :) I know it can feel very strange to do breathing techniques in a yoga posture, especially a forward bend. But if you can give it a try, you will see ( maybe after a couple of tries :) ) that the angle of the body affects the results of the breath. Just so a forward bend that is comfortable to you, preferably with straight back and maybe elevation of the buttocks and props that make you more comfortable. Let me know how it goes! ❤️

Elizabeth03.08.2016
Thank you Marlene - a super practice which I will be returning to. One question, the final part of the set when we bump the hands and then stretch out - is there a particular significance of using the outer edge of the hands please?
Marlene15.08.2016
Hi Elizabeth, thank you for your question; yes there is :) As with the feet, the hands also have pressure points that correspond with the organs, but also the planets according to some teachers. ❤️
Chantal20.07.2016
You're Kundalini inspired yoga classes are such a treat! I have done most of them and repeated some several times. You have a very calming voice and your instructions are very well explained. I had my boyfriend do one as well once, who has not done much yoga and he could easily follow. What I love about these classes is that it makes the energy in my body flow. No matter which class I pick, just wonderful! A funny side note, our dog is very intrigued by your vigorous breath! Even when she is sleeping in another room and she hears your vigorous breath, she always runs straight to the room where I am and is memorized by the I-pad to see where it comes from. And then she always stays around until the end of the class :-). I hope to see more of your classes coming in the future. Will you do another one hour one, like you did in the beginning?
Marlene20.07.2016
Thank you so much Chantal! I am happy to hear that you can feel what the classes do :) Aaaaah, cute! Give her a big dog hug for me! Yes, definitely, more classes on the menu. We upload a new video every 2 weeks. And there will definitely be longer classes soon. <3

I generally avoid breathing-focussed classes as I don't tend to enjoy them but I am so grateful I tried this class (the title of the class drew me in). It helped to release about 3 months of built up stress in a way I didn't think was possible. Thank you for creating this!
Lindsay10.07.2016

Wendy14.08.2016
Thank you so much for these beautiful and effective movements in body and soul. I feel empowered again and will do this more often, to feel more powerful and relaxed at the same time. For my children (at home and in my yoga class) I want to do more with 'empowering' and this feels good.., but I'am not sure if this is suitable for children, because it's quite strong. Can you give me advice on this? Thanks anyway!!
Marlene15.08.2016
Hi Wendy, great to hear this set works so well for you! With regards to kids, I would advise not to do these techniques with kids. They can be quite intense. But you can always adapt it a little and make it a playful workout, with arms swings and hand clap without the vigorous breathing. Not sure how old your kids are and whether they would be satisfied with an adaptation :) ❤️
Fatima17.01.2017
Thank you for this lovely practice, Marlene. Your voice was so soothing that I immediately felt calm. I really enjoyed the different techniques and feel refreshed and somewhat lighter after a few days of working 10 and more hours. I will come back to this and am interested to see how it will effect me over a longer period of time. Namaste
Marlene02.02.2017
Hi Fatima, thank you for your kind words. Happy to hear you connect to the practice. Let me know how it goes for you! <3

Alexandra15.12.2016
Due to my shoulder impingement I had difficulties with the last crucial move in Kundalini yoga because I could not lift my arms to the angle required. I simply adapted it and did not lift the arms that high and in a different angle as well plus did not do it that rigorously. Is there any advice you could give me how to manage that handycap and still benefit from Kundalini kriyas? A different move or another video of yours? I feel that Kundalini has a positive effect on my nervous system and would like to try it out. Thanks!
Marlene21.12.2016
Hi Alexandra, thank you for your comments. Actually it is perfectly ok to adapt the movement to suit your body, as should all yoga in my opinion. Of course the effects may be a bit less intens if you do the exercises less vigourously. But you will still have the benefits. Go in your own pace. This yoga is here for you, and needs to fit you, and not the other way around. :) Love, Marlene
Allyson17.12.2016
I've never done anything like this before, but I enjoyed it. I have a hard time breathing during my practice - as in, I sort of forget to pay attention to it - so this helped me become more aware of aligning the in/out breath with their respective movements. I found the last sequence to be empowering as others have said, and it really helped me feel like I could let go of the stressors I am currently dealing with. It also boosted my mood and confidence a bit and made me feel like getting through the obstacles could be possible. I found observing the energy going through my body afterwards very fascinating too; I felt most of it in my arms throughout the class and someone in my lower back. Thank you for the new experience! :-)
Allyson17.12.2016
Ha - sorry for the typo. I meant "somewhat in my lower back," not "someone!" (Oops...)
Marlene21.12.2016
Hi Allyson, thank you for your comments. I am happy you found and enjoyed this practice. And breath awareness can create pure magic, so I hope it helps you to explore it more. <3

I really enjoyed the video and different techniques. Thank you. I was wondering when we make noisy breath like when we twist, are we exhaling through our nose or mouth. Thank you.
Marlene03.05.2017
Hi Carolyn, thank you for your comments. We use the nose always unless specifically indicated. So with the twist it's nose :) <3
Jenny06.05.2017
When I do the last exercise at the end, with the hands bumping and extending to the sides, my hands feel numb after a while. I was a bit concerned so I stopped half way through, even though I feel like I have the endurance to make it to the end. Is this something that will go away with practice?
Marlene11.05.2017
Hi Jenny, Thank you for your comment! To be honest, I don't know. It could be that you are not used to the stimulation of these points in your hands. Or it could be that by holding your hands in this position your circulation is slightly diminished, or it could be that a nerve gets irritated. What you could try is relax your hands and wrists a little more and only stretch out to the sides. See if that makes a difference. <3
Paula19.02.2017
