A slow mindful flow and multi-layered yoga class that first asks you to become aware of the navel centre, and move from there. The class moves on to make you aware that the breath moves the rib cage, and then finally asks you to become aware of a point outside you looking back at yourself. Includes some Core work, Standing poses like Warrior II, Side Angle pose and Triangle pose, Hip openers and of course a Backbend. Enjoy coming back to your centre!

Loved, loved this class. When focusing on and drawing to and from my center,. I experienced better balance, felt more stable as if I were planted into the earth and light at the same time. Really great, creative, helpful class. Love that image because it truly works. Thank you Esther.

Ha, that was a good "point" to concentrate. Some time ago I had problem with not feeling my legs and my therapist used different methods to help me feel the "ground". This exercise was very good in this aspect. It moved my centre of the body from chest and throat to a lower point. After this practise I feel that my lower part is heavier, stadier, grounded and upper one lighter and free. It was hard for me to concentrate but I see it worked. Thank you.

Finally, after one thousand million attempts in just as many yoga classes, at least, I managed to keep focus where I wanted, well, more or less :-) At the end I came to think of James Reeves´ class number 2 in the Kosha series. This class was good stuff, especially for someone who has a monkey mind like you wouldn't believe.... So, awareness, translated into Norwegian and back to English again, I might end up with the word attention, right or wrong? Being aware of myself, looking at myself from the outside, how literally do I interpret this? Am I looking, as in watching myself in a mirror, or am I being aware of how I feel, rather then what I look like? I tend to go for the latter option. I have heard all these words and phrases before and I have my interpretations of them, but I would like to hear you say something about it, if possible. Anyway, from being "all over the place" I now have a centre point, of sorts :-)

Thanks, Esther, I'll let this sink in and see what happens. My experience of most things, actually, is quite different now from a few years back. I look at the world, with myself in it, in a different way. My pperception of everything has changed, slightly, and because of that, my feelings and actions, both towards myself and others. Better keep at it :-)

Dear Anne, attention yes, awareness of everything, when we don't pay attention and do pay attention, but basically yes you could say you need to pay attention to turn on awareness. You can take it a step further by imagining something outside you being aware, in a way you then begin to let go of the identification with the physical body, and become awareness... :-) Its a process, just go with it. These are just words, you want to work with experience and experiencing it. The image of a google camera hanging somewhere above in the sky looking back at you, everything (the physical body, how it behaves, feels, everything around), is helpful for some..

I enjoyed this class a lot. Focusing on this technique, the asanas fitted easier to my muscles, joints, facsia.... Less effort, same result. Feeling I did something good for my body, refreshed, happy, grounded, and no aching anywhere in my body ;) Thank you so much, Esther :)

Great grounding practice. Perfect antidote to sensory overload. I too found it nice to not look up today. Staying close to our center is a way to be more peaceful and feel connected to the earth.

What a wonderful class. So relaxing and grounding. I liked that you told us to not look up. It's so easy to just do every pose as you always do them without asking yourself what is right for today. And today was definitely a day for not looking up, but keeping in touch. I also really liked what you said about the earth and the sky, it really spoke to me about stability and freedom. Yoga always seems to ground me but this class very much so- the focus made me feel steadier than I sometimes feel, less inclined to overstretch and more to stay connected to my whole body. Thank you Esther.

Thank you Esther. This class was helpful today. I enjoyed this perspective after having done Anat's excellent heart opening class, a couple of days ago, where we did every movement from the heart space. I liked that you connected heart and naval centre during the sivasana. I think I will try the combo of Anat's class and this one again!

This was a special class. The beginning part, where we connected all our body parts to our center was very powerful for me. I really loved that feeling. In relaxation, I was able to feel "anchored" to the center of the earth as you suggested. Cool stuff. Looking forward to doing this practice again.

This is my favourite class!! I have done it many times and it really halps me to ground and center myself. I used to be 'all over the place' and I often times felt that my whole being was somehow 'dispersed'. Now I really feel that I have roots and that I have a steady stance - a solid base. From there I can also experience the lightness which is there as well - to experience both makes me feel whole. Thank you so much Esther for this class and for having created this Website !

It was hard for me to look at myself from outside, but when I did I felt a serious lightness and observational detachment from my sensations.... This practice was exactly what my body and mind craved today. I found the multi-focus points challenging but having three seemed to work really well for my typically racing mind! Even only being able to hold that outside perspective for the odd moment I felt more connected to myself and everything below and above - a really interesting approach and a class I will definitely be returning to, thanks Esther :)
