Have a block and a belt handy for this class. Slow asana that opens your body, guiding you deeper and progressing to deeper hip and shoulder openers. This active class focusses on feeling into your body and softening, without letting go. When you relax the body more, you can feel more and there is more space. You will practice different asana as a way not to achieve something but rather to feel yourself more. And when you feel more inside yourself, you can then take the awareness outward and start feeling out. With Utthita Hasta Padangusthasana, Prasarita Padottanasana, Dragon, Baddha Virabhadrasana I, Gomukhasana and more.

I loved this class...To me, it was perfect ...the intention, the sequence, the timing, the meditative quality, the connection between mind and body...everything! Many thanks, Sandra! <3

Great Sandra! Thanks a lot!! Love the meditation at the end and the beginning.... Tell me what's the name of going around from gomukasana legs to down dog and changing legs?? It's has been very funny for me!! You make yoga so easy, even though sometimes it is a hard work! ✨??namaste

Hi Esther, aaah yes, the meditation is nice ... thanks for the compliments:) There is no name for that movement, as far as I know of... just something I've been doing in my practice. So if you want to give it a name, let me know ;) namaste X

A very interesting class, or should I say experience, on all levels. I think I will do well to repeat it from time to time, for a number of reasons. Push less release more, yes, absolutely. I have been doing this for a long time now, and it is still challenging some times to be ok with whatever the current state of my body and mind is, even after plenty of proof that this works so well, both physically and in all other aspects of my practice and life. Feeling such a resistance to this class during the first few minutes my smarter alter ego :-) decided to take charge of the situation and I am very pleased with that. Releasing and softening is so often confused with running away, giving up and similar feelings and action, when it is in fact quite the opposite. My life in a nut shell ... I got a lot from this practice and I'm really into the way your teaching have changed (?) lately. Thanks, Sandra :-) I feel so much better now!

Wow, Sandra - this is an amazing and special class on so many levels but funnily enough my favorite part was your guidance during the centering right at the beginning. My legs are always tense when I sit cross-legged - it feels like if I relax them I start to slump and I have trouble finding the right balance - but your advice was so specific and helpful. A wonderful, gentle push in the right direction for me. xoxo Rachel
Sandra23.08.2017
Hi rachel, so good to read :) If you start to "slump" when you relax your legs, it is probably because the stretch in your leg muscles pull on your pelvis, which then round your spine. My advice is to use as many props as you need to sit relaxed without this happening. Meditation is about relaxing the body as much as possible so you can focus on other aspects of yourself! Hope this helps you find a comfy mediation spot:)

Thanks Sandra, perfect class... just when spring is finding its way to come to this side of the hemisphere (Europe), so for me class symbolised/felt as a way to go deep notice my insides, reflecting on the winter days... and get prepare to bring it & connect with the outside, lighter, busier, longer days....

Writing this the morning after I did this class. My upper back and shoulders feels open and relaxed, and the energy flowing easily. Which is good, because sometimes even Yoga can become a work-out that leaves me tense... Thank you for this reminder about the reason why we do yoga, Sandra.
Sandra26.10.2017
Hi Anne, so good to read you are aware of how your practice can easily turn into a workout. There is nothing wrong with that but yoga can be also so much more than that! Learning to feel what our body really needs and then giving ourselves that, is such a big gift of yoga too! Thank you for sharing <3

Love the slower flow! So happy there are teachers that will teach slower longer held poses. I think that is what yoga is all about. The benefits are felt for sure.
