This is a straightforward yoga flow that moves quite quickly through the poses. We'll work on different feel - good groups of poses. Sun Salutations, hip openers, Warrior poses and other standing poses, gentle backbends with an option of Urdhva Dhanurasana (full Wheel Pose) if you are in the mood.. 30 minutes, a good workout and a great feeling after!

Dear Ramani, You can do both, so alternating is good. Use blocks under your hands, to make the floor higher. You can also come down only half way. As long as you are bending from the hips, keeping your back long, you're doing fine!

This was a nice class - kind of a quick "best of" poses! Some of the standing twists were challenging but it was enjoyable and I feel more grounded after the practice. Thanks Esther!

Did this for the third time today. Smooth flow other than for the pyramid. Esther, since I am one of those people who has to bend the knees while in down dog. Can you please advise how I can modify the pyramid pose? Should I have the legs stretched out and just bend only as much as I can from the hips, or should I keep the front leg bent and then bend as much as I can from the hips? Thanks in advance.

Thank you Esther foe another great class. One question - I have trouble transitioning from downward dog to stepping one leg through. I can't seem to get either leg to step through in one smooth motion. I usually end up helping it through with my hand. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi Donna, work on your core and core planks, from downdog, lift one leg, then bring shoulders over wrists and knee to chest and really pull up from the belly, round the spine. This will help

I have a question about alignment. When wearing shoes, I wear insoles. When doing yoga (bare-footed, of course), I struggle whenever I have my left foot forward, like in lunges and crescent pose. My left ankle drops inward because of my foot, and with that, my knee. I always feel awkward and unstable, unable to keep everything in line. Anything I can do about this?

Pressing the centre of the heel and the base of the little toe really actively down, lifting through the inner arches, and doing exercises, lifting things up with your toes and putting them in a bowl. This will strengthen the inner arches..

I was a little scared at the "moves quite quickly through the poses" as I am still a beginner and like the slower, explanatory pace of level 1 classes. But I tried it and discovered that I have been doing yoga enough with you to be able to follow quite well, although my breathing got a little gaspy in the middle of the standing poses. Thank you Esther! :)

Week one done! :-) I love the changes I feel over the months practising yoga. In the beginning I hated the "little" vinyasas, now they refresh me. And the Downward dog is a break and not stress over a few breaths.

I wasn't planning to take this class today, thought I'd take a rest day. So I did the Somatics (because why not) and, naturally I felt nice and soft afterwards. So I thought Oh alright, let's try this...Glad I did! A bit challenging and fast for what I'm currently used to (been a Slow Flower lately), but really lifted my energy! Thank you, Esther, I'm enjoying the program so far. I tend to pick gentler classes for moody sun-less days of the winter, but the classes here gave me a little push to try something more active and it does make a difference:) Oh, the high-lunge prayer twist is very challenging for me. I came across it in a class a few weeks ago and it gave me a REALLY hard time. And then ever since, almost every class I pick, there's the prayer twist! Coincidence? I think not. Must.get there. Any tips or specific poses that will help me with it would be much appreciated.. (Note: I love twists, and, although a bit challenging, I also love lunges. It's the combination that I find very hard. I think it's the leaning forward and the balancing? Or more core work perhaps?) Is there a class that maybe builds up to this pose? Thanks and have a great weekend, Love Theo

Hi Devi, Esther is away at the moment so I'm answering instead. Some people (I am one of them) like to keep the foot flexed to support the stability of the knee joint. However, for others this feels uncomfortable so I can't give you a definitive answer, other than to say do what feels most comfortable for your own body.
