We are often going against gravity in our practice. Try this class and learn to let yourself go with the gravity and fall - immediately you will feel ease of effort. When you allow yourself to fall (letting the gravity move through the structure of the body), then you will also find the rising, which is not effortful lifting. The rising also moves up through your body... In this life in your body, you are always falling and rising simultaneously and when you go along with that flow, the world is on your side. A slow yet deep and insightful practice. The class includes hip openers, forward bends, Lotus (with alternatives), deep twists, half Sun Salutations, Locust backbend into Cobra and other standing and seated postures. Let yourself fall and feel the rising. Enjoy.

Aki, I do this class very often, and I always smile or laugh at the same parts of your narrative. You have many "favourite parts of the class". You clearly enjoy yoga, and teaching yoga,. It's always a delightful experience with you.

What a great class!! It took me a long time to get to your classes Aki, I won't go into details ;-) but now is the right time for me. This morning I wanted to work out, get some stress out, sweat, things like that, for various reasons, but as I had such a great experience with another one of your classes a few days ago, I opted for this one, challenging myself to go slow... I was expecting a slow and "easy" class, learning about alignment, good for my pretty heavy scoliosis, and I did!!! But boy, did I get a work out as well! Your classes always works the body so much from the inside out! And the whole concept of effortless effort, wow! Love it! Will repeat on a regular basis as these classes offers so much information in terms of alignment and simply how I need to do things to have a good, safe and wonderful practice keeping my condition in mind. I must say that I always feel very safe in any class I take at this studio and that all the teachers offer great guidance, each in their own way which in itself is a great thing.

My first lesson with you and I loved it. You allowed me to explore and challenge myself at once into going slow. I usually like moving around a lot but I also like to explore my practice and sequences like this one that help me deepen my practice. I learnt a lot and you instructions and alignment tips are very clear. I like your style too. Namaste

I know Aki isn't with Ekhart yoga anymore, but I keep coming back to this video, so I'm dropping another comment! Just a wonderful, profound class, and humorous, too, Aki makes me laugh. I do it a few times a year... sometimes I just wake up knowing I need it. If you're in doubt, check it out.

"If it feels like rising is too much effort, you haven't fallen enough." ✨This is one of the best classes on Ekhart! After years of subscribing, I keep going back to this class any time I want to lengthen and let go, and do deep work that is also playful and light. It always leaves me pleasantly sore the next day, with better posture and alignment. I miss you, Aki!
