One of the skills you learn in practicing meditation is to open to what is actually here in this moment. Instead of fixing what you feel or looking for distraction, you focus directly on the sensation itself, letting it unfold and tell its own story. We will practice how to actively engage with whatever sensation comes forward and allow ourselves to ground in what we truly feel.

Lots of ideas bouncing and rebounding and soon enough the busyness turned to a comforting feeling and relaxation. Thank you Esther.

Thank you Esther, I found this very calming and grounding :)

Hi Esther, thanks for this meditation and for sharing your feelings. I have had sort of a similar experience with breathing while sitting here. Mostly (or always) while meditating I feel tension in the heart/solarplexus/stomach region that makes it hard to breathe out. I've only recently noticed that it is a similar tension to the one I feel when I am nervous or something startles me. I think I've spent a lot of time being in a state of constant tension. Still, I hope to breathe freely one day.

Hi Christine, when having the same sort of tension as you describe, someone once asked me: what are you trying to contain or protect? This may feel like a Big Question, especially when there is chronic tension, but if you just ask yourself this, see what comes up.

Thanks for this meditation. I found it quite challenging to stay present with the sensations that came up and ended up drifting off and almost falling asleep. Will try it again tomorrow.

Hi Meg, well done if you could stay with it for just a while. It takes some practice to keep focusing. Thanks for your comment.

Hi Esther yes very surprised too how I saw colours, black down one side of my body then voiced grieve from my heart and fear ..staying with it was hard, I wanted to manipulate to change it through visualisation...you said don't manipulate just at the right time...I stayed with the feelings and voiced them out loud, and then the sensations and colours shifted , moved around without me manipulating. This was very interesting and I will return to this mediation. Thank you x

Hi Katrina, that's it...just staying with the fearful and dark sensations and confirming them allows them to shift by themselves...so good, thanks for sharing this.

Thank you so much for this meditation Esther. As someone with much residual tension and emotional pain, it amazed me that when I zoomed in on it I found that underneath the tension was so much joy. As I focused on the joy I felt, the tension just fell away on its own, and I realized that the joy was my true inner nature, not the pain, which can sometimes feel overwhelming. It was a very hopeful meditation. Thanks again. xx

That is so beautiful Shiromi, what a hopeful discovery! X

Dear Esther This definitely worked for me and I very much experienced an opening of a dialogue with my body- sometimes scary, sometimes sad, sometimes vulnerable. I didn't think that I would 'see' colours linked to each sensation, but amazingly I did, and then soon after an emotion followed. I will be repeating this again- I am curious to see what else my body wants to tell me! With love, Sara xx

Hi Sara, wonderful, sounds good! x

Thank you Esther for this meditation, I find these mindfulness meditations so helpful, so great teachers for when off the meditation cushion !! These are the ones that I try to practice the most, when I don't need to work on a particular theme / don't have any particular need other than being present, and mindful, and work my mindfulness muscle :-) Thank you again and again and again for all you bring to us <3 that peace, that growing of our well-being, while learning to know ourself more and more... Much love <3

This is a wonderful meditation for me at the moment. Difficult but also very illuminating. What I am getting from this is that my body has its own wisdom, and tells its own story - however sad that may be, at times.

Dear Selkie, wonderful discovery, and so true!
Selkie16.11.2016
This was a lovely meditation - although I kept getting interrupted by the cat I'm looking after at the moment. I'll certainly return to this one. :-)
Esther16.11.2016
:-) Good thing the video will be waiting for you when the cat returns home.

I usually like your meditation classes very much, but this one was even greater ! The act of describing my sensations loudly was very pleasant and helped me staying in myself. I felt a great joy, which brought tears and laughter at the same time ! I will certainly come back to it. Thanks Esther.

Thank you Esther. This was a really helpful meditation. I'm learning that actually noticing the sensation and moving towards it or allowing it to be there can then take me in to what needs to be felt and I come out the other side. Went from feeling really uptight to much calmer :) Thank you xx
