Do friends describe you as peaceful, sensitive, grounded, stable, compassionate, patient plus maybe a little bit possessive, attached and stubborn? Are you a warm and nurturing provider with a tendency to 'get stuck'? Or are you just in need of an energizing and slightly warming practice with some sun salutations, standing poses, inversions and breathing exercises? Then this Ayurvedic Kapha Dosha balancing practice is for you!

Not sure that I am kapha dosha, but enjoyed this class very much all the same. What I like most about your classes, Irina, is the peaceful pace at which the asanas and vinyasas progress. It makes for calmness and relaxation, with time enough to relax into the alignment. Thanks so much.

This was a very nice and interesting class, especially after "breathing into deeper awareness" with David.

Not one by one but I seem to have some of Dosha Kapha characteristics , so that was just for me! Thanks Irina, I love your classes!
Irina23.02.2015

Don't know about ayurveda but the description fit so I tried the class. Needed a tiny break during the first part, and enjoyed the general slow pace. Thank you for your compassion and soothing tone too. Will try the lion's breath again if it makes me brave :)
Irina08.03.2015
It'll make you discover the braveness that has been present inside you all along... Love - Irina

Love this practice, thank you very much.

This was a good choice today, I wanted to do the Pitta-dosha class because I am Vatta-Pitta, but it is so cold in Cape Town today that i needed to warm up and this was perfect! Thank you Irina for another wondeful class!
Irina04.08.2015
Ah, can imagine you needed this one to find some warmth. Happy to hear you enjoyed the practice. xx

I'm not sure if I'm a kapha dosha, but this was a really nice practice. I really enjoyed the breathing exercises, but my dogs thought it was a bit strange! They both had to come over and make sure I was ok. Silly boys. Thanks Irina. I always love your sweet, positive energy.
Irina23.02.2015
I love that your dogs came to check if you were ok! So sweet! My cats do that as well...
Inge17.02.2015
Thanks Irina, it was a great class! Even though I got disturbed by the doorbell just after kapalabhati, I continued after a short break and had a lovely savasana :-)

Thank you very much for this practice, Irina! I think I have got a lot of "Kapha Dosha" and I found this practice both challenging and energysing. I have always had an aversion towards inversions and an Iyengar yoga teacher taught me to do shoulder stand next to a wall. It feels less scary for me, as I have the support of the wall to rest my feet on. Just a tip for anybody who might also be scared of doing shoulder stand without support :-)
Irina11.04.2015
Thanks for sharing that tip, Esther! Love it!

Dear Irina, Thank you for the answer! Indeed, this question was a bit naive from me, but I tried to be "to the point" and not go overboard with long explanations of my issues. The class is great and I also watched the videos you suggest and started adjusting my diet. I am currently finding my way and am really grateful for the great job you do. It has been an inspiration and a pleasure to watch. With lots of grateful greetings, Anna
Irina23.06.2015
Happy to hear this, Anna! Thanks so much! May you find all the inspiration you need on your path. xx Irina
Anna20.06.2015
Dear Irina, Thank you for this class! It was a tough one for me, even though I have been practicing yoga for a long time. I would like to ask something. I am Vata Pitta type with a bit of Kapha, but since a while I often feel sluggish, swollen and slow with lots of digestive issues. Can it be that Kapha is out of balance and would you recommend this class as a balancing option? Namaste. Anna
Irina20.06.2015
Dear Anna, Thanks for your comment and question. It's always difficult to tell what's best based on so little information - but yes, sluggishness, feeling swollen and slow are kapha qualities. So yes, it could be that kapha is imbalanced. If that is the case, this practice is a great place to start finding balance again. Also, you could watch my videos on ayurvedic diet and adjust your diet as well. Love, Irina

this is such a beautifully-paced and sequenced class. Irina, I love your way, it's really unique and special- and I find myself calm and steady. Thank you. Another one for kapha dosha please?? xxx
Irina09.08.2016
Thanks so much for your kind words, Nina! At the moment, I don't have any 'real kapha' videos online. However, these are perfect for kaphas as well: https://www.ekhartyoga.com/videos/smooth-steady-continuous-flow, https://www.ekhartyoga.com/videos/its-gonna-be-a-bright-bright-sunshiny-day, https://www.ekhartyoga.com/videos/creative-and-energizing-sun-saluting-practice & https://www.ekhartyoga.com/videos/easy-peasy-detox-for-women. In the future I might add more dosha-specific videos, so stay tuned. ;-) xx
