How beautiful Julie. I actually did this in the evening. Felt sooooo good the diamond dog. Love the fluidity of movement you encourage in your classes. This is in my favourites...three times a week this class!
Julie03.10.2017
Great news Nekehia! Glad to know I made it to your "favourites" list! Keep enjoying the fluidity! with gratitude, Julie
Ana Ida16.10.2017
This was very creative flow :)! Unfortunately my thumb side of the palm was hurting to much to stay in a diamond shape, but i just went regular and enjoyed it as well :).
Julie16.10.2017
Hi Ana, Glad you made the adjustment as it felt uncomfortable on your thumb side. It's not for everyone, but good for people to play with sometimes. Glad you enjoyed the class in a regular down dog (which is just as special as a "diamond"!!) With gratitude, Julie
Michelle24.10.2017
A lovely and creative class! It's refreshing to use movement in the poses.
Julie26.10.2017
Thanks Mike, glad you liked it! With gratitude, Julie
Anne Berit18.11.2016
Super yummy! Diamonds are for ever, right ? Certainly for right now as I have a bit of a shoulder issue. Diamond dog worked just around that, actually :-) Great class, love your approach to movement :-)
Julie19.11.2016
Great Anne. One of the main reasons I like to do classes with Diamond Dog instead of regular is for those who have shoulder and wrist issues, whether they are on going or something that has just cropped up! So now you have an alternative when your shoulder become uncomfortable. Keep enjoying! Julie
Kirsty29.05.2017
Another wonderful class. Your playful and pliable approach to yoga is having such a profound effect on my practice (haha, they could use that sentence in Pronunciation classes!) - and my life. Thank you, thank you <3
Julie29.05.2017
Awesome Kirsty! I love that the work is having a great effect on your practice! Big love x

Thank you Julie. Your classes are really a treat. My shoulders enjoyed that. I always find upward dog really unconfortable; upward diamond was precious ;-)
Julie15.03.2018
Great news Jocelyn! So glad your shoulders enjoyed it! with gratitude, Julie
Celia05.08.2020
This was a fun variation. I enjoyed the concept of playing with the movement and what you say about static versus dynamic strength resonate with me.. Although I enjoyed having music playing for a change, I agree with Peter about the music being too loud. It has a high pitch that can be difficult to listen to for some , in addition to making it a little hard to focus on the instruction at times. Just needed to be quieter fully enjoy the class as a whole. I definitely look forward to doin another class with you.
Kirsty06.08.2020
Hi Celia, I'm responding on behalf of Julie as some teachers are having issues with responding to comments at the moment due to a glitch we are looking at as we speak. Just to say we're really glad you enjoyed the class and apologies about the music. Unfortunately, with it being quite an old class, the original footage can no longer be edited so am afraid we're not able to alter the volume of the music. Julie has loads of other classes without music though so hopefully you can find something else you'll enjoy. Thank you for your comment, love Kirsty x

Hey Julie! Back from a business trip in NYC!! Stayed at a hotel named "The Pod"! Need I say more :) the room was very, very, very small!! (actually I recommend the hotel if you are busy with meetings and some night life-it is very good for sleeping). Anyway, haven't done this class in some time, and it brought me back to my self, in my home, in my yoga space. Moving on to your new class that dropped while I was away. See ya. All my love, Christine
Julie12.09.2017
Wonderful Christine! Glad it was the perfect antidote to staying in small quarters in NYC! With love, Julie
Christine W19.11.2016
Hey Julie! Beautiful class-thank you so much! The music transformed the practice into a dance-I truly loved each moment. On the weekends I wait until the sunrise (during the week I practice before) and as the sun shone through my glass door in my yoga space I saw my dancing shadow on the wall. I am so blessed, and you are a part of my blessings. All my love, Christine Yes to Diamond Dog!!
Julie18.12.2016
Thank you for sharing your beautiful moment with me! It's like I was there too. Glad you enjoy the classes. with gratitude, Julie

Very interesting approach to Yoga - the fluidity felt nice and the music really helped! Nice and relaxing -thanks for this very fun, accessible class!
Desiree25.11.2016
Thanks for this class Julie! The diamond dog is a really helpful way of practicing esp. up-dog! Personally I prefer classes without music. Namaste, Désirée

Kat03.03.2017
Julie! What a fun (and challenging) class for me today! I decided to do this one because of the Diamond Dog variation, which I hadn't tried before, but the entire style of your class was very different from what I am used to. I loved the F-L-O-W, not just between the poses but within the poses. It made me realize that my body really likes this change up from being more static or fixed in poses. Thanks for opening my mind and body up this morning! (Oh, and I loved the music, too). Thank you! <3
Julie04.03.2017
Hi Kat! So happy that you enjoyed this class and go a lot out of the way I work. Movement in the poses is so important for me. We live most of our lives being stuck in shapes and the body really just wants to get "juicy" and find its fluidity again! I hope you felt that in the classes! Keep enjoying! with gratitude, Julie
Marti20.11.2016
Thank you so much Julie for this unique and cool class! I really enjoy your style of teaching and look forward to taking more of your classes :)
Neny30.09.2017

Love this class and the music!
Julie18.12.2016
Glad you enjoyed it Ester! great to have you "in class"!
Helen26.12.2016
What a beautiful class! I loved it! I did it with a regular down dog, though. My wrist didn't like the diamond variation... maybe I was doing it wrong? But the class was amazing anyway. Thank you :-)
Julie30.12.2016
Hi Helen! Totally ok that your wrists didn't like the Diamond Dog variation. I offer for people who have tight shoulders and then get wrist issues trying to do it aligned, but of course doing the whole class with standard D. Dog is still good fun anyway! Thanks for your comments and glad you enjoyed it! With gratitude!
Anne-Marie20.01.2018
Thank you Julie, very nice class! I love the combination with the music so much; it brings me in the flow and it feels like a dance.

Kassie23.04.2017
Loved this flexible approach to poses - moving around in them. Is this a type of yoga or just a style you have? Really enjoyed it, thanks.
Julie08.05.2017
Hello Kassie! So glad that you enjoy the classes and the way I work. It's not a particular style, but something that I have been evolving over the last 10 years. With gratitude, Julie
Miriam23.05.2019

Glad you started your day with this class and enjoyed it Miriam!! With gratitude, Julie
Gem08.04.2018
I really enjoyed this thank you! I feel like I'm finally getting to grips with your style and my body definitely thanks you! Can i ask - what makes this yoga as opposed to dance? It feels more like dance to me... which is not a bad thing! but I am curious why this kind of practice - without stillness and with less chance to focus on the breath - is still yoga? Thank you for sharing!! xx
Julie09.04.2018
Hello Gem and thank you so much for your question! It is absolutely yoga and not dance at all. It can feel like dancing sometimes because you work with your bodys' natural movement which is liberating. I bring the "pause" in between the movements as this is when the nervous system processes information. We don't hold the actual poses as, until we are very advanced, we tend to put too much rigidity in them which becomes counter productive. If you look at my latest video released here on Ekhart called "Why work differently" it's a tutorial where I give more information exactly about this subject. Hope you continue to enjoy! With gratitude, Julie
Deborah12.05.2017

diane05.11.2017
At first , the music was distracting but it grew on me as I got into the flow. I really liked the exploration of the bakasana (I think that's how you say it). Thank you .
Julie07.11.2017
Hi Diane! glad you stuck with the class even though the music was a distraction at the beginning. The music can often help find the rhythm for us and become part of our guidance! Glad you like our Bhakasana 'play'. With gratitude, Julie
Binkie04.05.2018
I'm really pleased to have found this diamond dog posture as it allows me to dog & plank without upsetting my damaged shoulder tendon. So thanks!
Julie05.05.2018
Hi Binkie, Thank you! And wishing you a smooth recovery of your shoulder. With Gratitude, Julie
Gert03.03.2018
I had to skip this class because the background music was much too loud and made it difficult to understand the instructions. A real pity as the exercises themselves looked interesting and useful. If ever there is a version without music i"ll give it another try.
Julie04.03.2018
Hello Gert, Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm so sorry to hear that. The music is added on after the filming by the technical people at Ekhart. I'll forward your message on to them. Not sure they will want to release one without music but good to let them know so that they can adjust the volume to ensure that all the instructions can be heard clearly above the music. Hope you enjoy the other classes (without music!). With gratitude, Julie
Kirsty05.03.2018
Hi Gert, thank you for your feedback. We'll see if we can tweak the volume a little so you can give the class a try.
Peter05.04.2020
Stopped the lesson after 1 minute. Music too loud for me. Got irritated and that's not what I want in a yogaclass
Clements02.05.2018
A wonderful flow with great benefits. As older practitioners with compromised hearing, we wonder if others comment on the intrusive nature of the musical accompaniment. Certainly aesthetic but not all that practical for hearing the instructions.
Julie05.05.2018
Hi Clements, I'm sorry that the music was not practical for you. Luckily I have many other classes without music. Hopefully, you will enjoy them! If I film another class with music, I'll make sure that it does not overwhelm my voice. Thank you for your feedback. With Gratitude, Julie
Marion05.09.2018
Hi Julie, I really enjoyed your class. It reminded me also of the bow spring principle, because of the buoyant aspects of your class. Have you experienced bow spring yoga?
Julie07.09.2018
No I haven't but it sounds like it's similar. Glad you enjoyed the class! with gratitude, Julie
Annelie25.09.2018

Julie30.09.2018
Wonderful Annelie! We love it when the body says "YES"! With gratitude, Julie

Julie14.10.2018
Great Ethel! You're so welcome. I love that shoulder opener too!! With gratitude, Julie
Eleanor08.07.2020
Thankyou! Your session came in perfect time for me. I have been doing some of the ekhart shoulder neck strengthening/stretching as I have a left shoulder injury and was feeling it. Your Session was next in line in the ‘30 mornings of yoga’ programme and the ‘diamond dog’ was perfect compliment Using different arm/shoulder muscles. I loved the playful flow too. Many thanks 🙏
Julie08.07.2020
I am glad it was helpful and you also had fun! With gratitude, Julie
Avril15.03.2021
Thanks Julie, very enjoyable. Bakasana is still a fantasy for me, so enjoyed the moving squats. I enjoyed the music!
Julie15.03.2021
I am glad you enjoyed it and as I always say..the practice is not in the asana, the practice is in the awareness! With gratitude, Julie
Jennifer22.09.2020
Great class, thank you Julie!! I loved the diamond dog variation. I had some shoulder issues a few months ago and still need to be careful, so this felt really good. I also surprised myself by getting my arms almost straight in bakasana. Was not expecting it (especially since it had been a while since I'd practiced the pose), I just suddenly... noticed the strength was there! So thank you for adding that in there :)
Julie23.09.2020
Yes, when we involve all we need into the conversation then we find integrated strength! XX, Julie
