Do you have a tired, tense and sore back, shoulders and neck, and practicing yoga doesn't seem to ease it? Then this session is for you!
Using 4 tennis balls and 2 socks (I'll explain how we use these at the start) we apply acupressure and deep tissue release in specific areas along the spine. We start in the lower back and work our way up to the neck and shoulders. Be playful in how to position your body in order to find the juicy spots. If it's too intense, move away from the area a little, so you can relax more. Relaxation of the muscles we target is essential so that the pressure of the balls and gravity can work their magic. The idea is to completely surrender and let go. While tension is released, stored emotions can arise too; just allow them to come (and go). At the end we will slip into Savasana right away, so make sure you are comfy and warm when you practice. This is a great class to do before going to sleep.
Props: 4 tennis balls and 2 sport socks, a pillow or bolster and a blanket.

Thank you Jose, that was really nice but also tough. I started on my buttocks as my lower back has an excessive lordosis which means that my buttocks are always working hard and are tense. It was too much for the lower back to have the balls there. I definitely will use the balls more often. 🙏

Great Annemarieke, Try to use one ball,if more balls at the same time are too much. And also lean away a bit from the tension point if it is too intense, gradually built up or work towards the center of the tension. Namaste

Loved this practice with the balls, exactly what I needed after a busy day behind the computer! Will leave socks and balls nearby :)

Wow, that felt great, thank you José I first watched the video and then did it with only two balls (that’s what I have) the shoulder blades area was tricky but once I got it it felt great, I played around and did my buttocks too which was wonderful I have to go and buy more balls!!!

I loved the use of the tennis balls, it is very effective to use the four of them. When i tried to put them under my head supporting them with my hands, my arms started to moan, so i just placed them under the base of the skull. It felt fine but is this the pressure area that needed to be activated? Thank you!

Dear Teresa, great it does wonders for you! Sometimes the balls slip away and then you can also use a block, but the way you did it sounds perfect as well.
