It’s trendy to focus on the “core” - aka the abs - but the core of the body's stability comes from your hips and spine.  This class will give the back side of your body (the posterior chain) lots of love. You’ll leave this class with a new awareness and appreciation of the muscles that keep you upright.

Such an amazing class! During the last pose I felt very strong sensations in my lower back, but not much in my legs. Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong?
MacKenzie04.10.2016
Simone, It is normal for the compensation of this movement to be in the lower back. Really focus on drawing the navel towards the spine and the sitz bone towards your knee. This will rotate your pelvis posteriorly and work the glute/hamstring. Good luck!! Hope that helps.
Daria07.09.2016
I had a hard time with this one. I woke up really stiff this morning and struggled getting straight into strength work. I know these program classes are really supposed to be 30 mins, but I think it would have really benefited with a warm up first. I may revisit this some afternoon to get more benefit from the work.
MacKenzie08.09.2016
Daria, Definitely revisit this class. Maybe knowing that it begins with strength work right away will lessen the shock and make it more bearable. We all have those stiff mornings!! Thank you for taking class.
Michael17.03.2017
I enjoyed the program and felt new openings in the back. Nice. Thanks, MacKenzie.
MacKenzie23.03.2017
Michael, You are most welcome! Thank you.

Anne Berit09.09.2016
I found room in my yoga room today, room for improvement :-) I'm super lazy by nature, the comfort/fun/I can do this-zone, is my favourite zone. This class was perfect, though, effective but not too long. In fact, it was over right when I was starting to get into it. Perfect :-) There is an actual danger of me repeating this (seriously, I really should, I just know it would make a world of difference! )
MacKenzie26.09.2016
Anne, You are too funny! I am also lazy by nature. I love being tricked into practicing something difficult. ;) Thank you for practicing with me.
May10.09.2016
this was beautifully challenging. I'm sure i'll end up with a cute bubble butt after doing this a few times :D
MacKenzie26.09.2016
May, Let me know how the bubble butt comes along! :) haha. Thank you for letting me challenge you.
Annemarie04.09.2016
Great, juicy class :) I used blocks for the warrior3 flow at the wall to protect my sensitive lower back. Please more of these strength and stretches :)
MacKenzie04.09.2016
Annemarie, Blocks are a great tool to use! Take care of your body. I have a few classes like this live already and more to come!! :)
Andrea03.09.2016
Holy smokes MacKenzie, this was amazing. I will do this class again for sure! Namaste and hugs
MacKenzie04.09.2016
Andrea, Namaste and hugs back at you!!
Jocelyne03.09.2016
Thank you MacKenzie! It feels lovely (afterwards;-)) The legs and hips actually feel very relaxed (did I mention afterwards?) And yes, thank you for the reminder that we are lucky to feel sensations in our body. Love
MacKenzie04.09.2016
Jocelyne, Haha! Yes, during it is a bit of torture, but after pure bliss! :) We all are so fortunate to challenge ourselves and feel these beautiful sensations in our bodies.
Christine10.04.2019
Felt real outrage at the difficulty of the last exercise, warrior 3. So much that I had to repeat it...;) I saw that my right knee was not staying over the right ankle but "falling" to the inside. So I guess that means more practice.
Armande02.09.2016
Wow, so strong but also (I'm glad) combined with yinish poses. I felt it good and it feels also good;-) ThanX...
MacKenzie04.09.2016
Armande, Sounds like you had a good class!! I also really enjoy this combination. Thank you!!
Cathy03.09.2016
A superb class, MacKenzie! I love all your classes and as I'm a 'forward bending' person :-) working on strengthening the back is always a bit of a challenge. This one is going into my Favorites, though! Many thanks, C X
Cathy03.09.2016

MacKenzie04.09.2016
Cathy, Oh yes! if you're a forward bender it's important that you have the strength to support that mobility. Balance is key!! :) Keep up the hard work.
Laura02.09.2016
Mackenzie!!! I always love how your strengthening classes come from these small movements that, when done mindfully, provide such a sweet challenge. Thank you for this class.
MacKenzie04.09.2016
Laura, Yes, less is more for sure!! I am happy you find joy in my classes.
Clare03.09.2016
Wow, That was a tough one! And I thought I had strong legs ! Thank you I loved it X
MacKenzie04.09.2016
Clare, Even those with really strong legs will find this challenging! :) Thank you for taking class.
sally03.01.2017

Lovely, grounding class thanks MacKenzie ☺
MacKenzie08.09.2016
You are most welcome Jo!!
Jenny28.01.2017
Thank you MacKenzie, I loved your class. Finally I got around to doing this class after it had been sitting in my Watch Later list for too long! I woke up with a sore and stiff back today but I know in my case I need to strengthen as well as release it so this was perfect. I love the wall hanging forward bend! Love Jenny x
MacKenzie03.02.2017
Jenny, The wall forward fold is one of my go to poses. It feels so good on my hamstrings and back. Win, win! Thanks for taking class! :)
Nikita20.11.2016
Fantastic class and different from a usual yoga flow.
MacKenzie23.11.2016
Nikita, This is my take on strength training for yoga! Glad you enjoyed it.
Daniela11.09.2016
That last strengthening exercise... What an unexpected treat!! :D I must say - just finished my third day of taking these types of classes ("shoulder therapy", "hip burner" and now this one), and never thought I'd enjoy them this much. My body is happy with this kind of focused work and my muscles feel pampered with all this targeted atention :)
MacKenzie26.09.2016
Daniela, I also love this type of work because it is subtle and oh so sweet.... yet extremely effective. :) Glad you enjoyed your triple with me!
Gael02.09.2016
Arghhhhh this was ..... but thanks for making me worked other parts of my body! I feel my legs now! Gael
MacKenzie04.09.2016
Gael, Always a pleasure!! Happy legs! :)

MacKenzie21.10.2016
Louise, It is always such a great feeling to find something to work on! Thank you for practicing with me. :)
Kitty02.09.2016
Wow-a great class-I was out of my comfort zone in the beginning and it was definitely challenging, but by the end I felt the therapeutic effects. It helped when I worked out the right breathing for each pose. I also found the last pose very relaxing. I am looking forward to doing this again-thank you MacKenzie!
MacKenzie04.09.2016
Kitty, This class will only get better with repetition, so keep it up!! Challenge=growth :)
Distel27.09.2016
Thank you!
MacKenzie04.10.2016
Distel, Thank you for taking class!
Ilse14.09.2016
Blundering bull comes to mind when I review myself in this practice! I understand why it is necessary, but o my goodness it is not fun. Thanks Mackenzie, I love to hate your strengthening classes, because it shows out all my weak spots. :) xxx
MacKenzie26.09.2016
Isle, I find learning where my weaknesses are only makes me that much stronger. :) Keep up the hard work!! xo
Trudy25.09.2016
Shall be repeating this one! Wow! Really tough but SO beneficial. x
MacKenzie26.09.2016
Trudy, Repetition=progress!! :) Thank you for practicing with me.

Rachael07.09.2016
Wow! I know this class will really strengthen my practice. I'll be back for more. I love how you say you're feeling the difficulty of the movement also...even though I'm pretty sure you're not feeling it as much as me (lol)! It's actually very helpful to hear it. Thank you.
MacKenzie08.09.2016
Rachael, Haha! You're too funny!! I'm just better at making suffering look effortless! ;) It all gets better with practice. Thank you for practicing with me.
Amo11.09.2016
what a wonderful class!!! But the last pose, dear God...... phewwwww. I think I was able to hold just for 2 secs on my left leg.
MacKenzie26.09.2016
Amo, Now you will be able to measure progress! Practice, practice, practice!! :) Thank you for taking class.
Leda11.11.2016
Hi Mackenzie, It turns out there was a wrong way of doing that stretch after the first glut exercise. As I was coming out of child's pose last Saturday, my knee locked and I haven't been able to walk properly since then... my lower back, hips and knee feel out of place. I'm going to see an osteopath asap, but this week happened to be incredibly busy. I'd just like to suggest instructions that ensure we are doing a pose safely. Much as we should listen to our bodies, at times some expert advice could spare us a lot of trouble! Namaste.
MacKenzie12.11.2016
Leda, I am so sorry to hear you felt unsupported by the direction given in this class and you're having trouble with your low back, hips and knee. Sending you healing energy and that you recover quickly. Namaste.
Neny02.09.2016
Wow! this is great calming & some very challenging one! I will definitely to do it again. Thank you MacKenzie
MacKenzie04.09.2016
Neny, Exactly! Hard but calming. That is what I'm going for. Thank you for taking class.
Mariana04.09.2016
Hi! I was really not prepared for this :) It was a bit difficult to my back end, mainly because I was doing it in a particular stiff morning... But the advise of "start with quality instead of quantity" (that, in my opinion, should be said in the beggining ;) ) made me want to repeat in a better day for my body. Thank you!
MacKenzie04.09.2016
Mariana, Yes, I think all classes should start with "quality over quantity" :) It's a golden rule. Definitely repeat this class and you'll feel better each time.
Libby27.01.2017
I loved the soft and quiet work which became very intense. I especially liked the wall work. Thank you.
MacKenzie03.02.2017
Libby, Thank you for taking class. Subtle work is my favorite.

MacKenzie20.12.2016

MacKenzie04.09.2016
Priscilla, Smiling is the best!! Thanks for participating in this class.
Andrada02.09.2016
Oh wow. I have to admit, I was not enjoying this in the first few minutes... My mind was racing everywhere and getting caught up in the physical limitations of my body. As soon as you told us at the end on how we should be grateful for even having the chance to experience different sensations, be it less than pleasant ones, that's when I finally realised what a great practise this was and what an incredible machinery the human body is. Thank you so much, MacKenzie! Namaste :-)
MacKenzie04.09.2016
Andrada, We've all had those practices and even that I'm thankful for. We all are truly blessed and I believe that from the bottom of my heart. Thank you. Namaste.
Espi03.09.2016
Loved, loved, loved! 30 minutes went by so fast!
MacKenzie04.09.2016
Espi, the class is short and sweet, like me!! ;)
Gillian03.09.2016
Really enjoyed, but found the strength work on the wall impossible not just challenging, is there a halfway pose to use in order to build up? thank you
MacKenzie04.09.2016
Gillian, Use a block under your hands to elevate you up higher and shorten the range of motion. Hope that helps!! :)
Nicole07.09.2016
Simple, yet demanding. Very nice. Thank you!
MacKenzie08.09.2016
Nicole, There is so much beauty to be found in simplicity. :)
Igor04.08.2018
