Thank you for a relaxing, releasing class, Andrew. Your gentle voice and reassuring Yorkshire (?) accent make it so homely and accessible. I couldn't get my bottom right up against the wall because my lower back and hamstrings are too tight, but even with my bottom about 10 inches away, it felt really good. I placed a folded towel under my lower back and that made it quite comfortable. I will be repeating this class and hopefully, it will help me get my bottom right up against the wall one day. Thanks once again.

Thank you for your comments. Alison, if your child pose is comfortable the way you practice I wouldn't change anything, especially in this practice where you are looking for release. If you were practicing child posture for longer you might want to try putting a block or a cushion between your but and heels and a block under your head. When I practice, my but touches my heels but my head doesn't touch the floor so I use a block. Hope this helps, enjoy your yoga. Andrew

Lovely! I released a lot of angry emotions with the hip stretches. It felt great to let go of all that negative energy. I love yin yoga - and I really appreciated the use of lunges in this yin yoga class! It made the practice gentle, challenging, and ultimately restful. Just what I needed to relax after a stressful day of preparing for the new school year. :-)

Thank you, Andrew. I did find release in my hips, physically and in dramatic emotions, however, your guidance led me out calmly and safely without engaging with those emotions. My hips are very tight, and I have to work on them constantly to maintain strength in my practice. Thank you again for the instruction--I especially found the colored breath visualization helpful.

I find great frustration with the first pose: I don't know how not to have tension in my shoulders as that's where I'm supporting my weight. I even moved my hands onto blocks but it doesn't help. Perhaps I just need a different pose? I simply was not able to "let go" as I should in a yin class... Thank you though Andrew! Namaste.

Hi Andrew. Could you advise me regarding a posture please. When i sit back in any sort of child's pose, i find i can come forward easily but my bottom wont stay down on my heels. Is it most important to keep my bum touching the heels? Should i stay up more and keep bum down or continue to bend forward and let bum come off? It does feel very comfortable the way i do it but i wonder am i getting the benefit of the proper posture? Hope I've been clear .. Its a bit difficult to describe. Many Thanks Alison

A most excellent session. I am not particularly drawn to yin yoga but coupled with your usual philosophical common sense and spiritual flavouring I was once again delighted with the practice and transported with you through a great yoga journey.
