Yelitza I like what you had to say about accepting a cold, so true. That's what I finally had to do this week as well with a trip to the doctor for some antibiotics. had to rest and take some time off work to speed up the recovery process.

not necessarily related to just this class, but trying to decide which bolsters would be better to purchase. The long rectangular ones? or the rounded ones. or one of each, or would that feel to odd?

Very helpful, indeed. I think that since most of the poses open the chest without having the head hanging forward, they help control the drip as well. I particularly enjoyed the lying-back butterfly. Will try to fall asleep in it tonight. Thanks, Esther.

I come back to this class whenever I get a cold and highly recommend it. Tonight I was coughing a lot but these poses opened my chest in a way that really helped. This class is such a gift, I wish there were a way to highlight it more to others who may not know its here.

Really enjoyed this Esther, thank you. I felt an extra bit of energy and a feeling of well being after this. One has to be careful though not to use this extra energy to do some more jobs around the house and get busy again! It is a challenge to the ego and oneself to stay still and rest when you are sick, thank you for the help in just letting go and accepting. x

Thank you again for this practice. Sometimes I feel that my mind wants to prevent me from getting the rest that I need even though my body and heart know that what I need is rest. After 10 days with a cold I had to go to see a doctor and was prescribed antibiotics for a sinus infection. So here I am changing my mind from "fighting a cold" to accepting a cold. It is much more peaceful to let my body do what it knows how to do to protect me.

Thank you for your support, Esther. Love, Ingrid

Hi Esther, I was warm surprised that there was a yoga session for cold (of fever I supose). Was nice to do. It feels also that the signs of my fever get worse, but I understand it as that the healingproces go quicker with this excerises. Is that correct? Thank you for this special class. Greetings, Ingrid

Thank you so much for this class! I have had a terrible head cold for a week and I feel so much relief after this class - both physically and emotionally. Wonderful class!
Erik16.05.2013
Esther, it was a wonderful practice! After some days of more active practice at my local yoga studio this was a wonderful break and restorative class! Namaste, erik
Erik16.05.2013
Hi andrea' i would also recommend the long rectangular bolster. These are extremely versatile: you can use them to sit on, make it higher with another prop on top ( e.g. a half moon cushion). It's also more supportive when you put it under your knees when lying in shavasana as well. Enjoy! Namaste, erik

Thank you Esther for this great restorative class. Unfortunately I can`t really breathe at the moment because of the cold I caught, but the practice made me feel better anyway. Namaste and lots of love, Andrea

Thank you Esther and Meinke, that was a lovely restorative class. In Viparita Karani I thought it was nice to put a belt around a bolster and the legs to give it more support. Namaste

I've been "fighting" a cold for three days now. I kept going to work and trying to forge ahead despite feeling lousy. Now that it's Saturday I wanted to do something for me and simply rest. I knew there would be just the right video for me here, because Esther never lets me down :) Now, I'm "accepting" my cold. What a much better way to approach it. Thanks Esther!
Myrthe15.05.2013
Hi Andrea - You will get more use out of long bolsters so I'd go for those.

Thank you so much for this healing class! Just what I needed to hear to be able to accept and relax into the cold rather than doing the usual resisting, denying and ploughing though.(maybe I'll cancel that spinning class after all!). I know my body will be very grateful for this...like a hug from the inside. Much love xx

Dear Esther, thanks for the head & cold yoga. I really have a bad cold and its helping and soothing. A question. I have pain in my sciatic nerve on the right side and difficulty doing a lot of stretches such as the one we to right & left side of the body in this class. Is there any yoga or massage ball exercises I can do to support and protect my right side sciatica? many thanks from Vancouver , Canada
Esther02.02.2018
Hi Elaine, You can have a look what Nichi Green has to offer with her Yamuna ball exercises? You'll find the classes under styles selecting Yamuna https://www.ekhartyoga.com/classes Hope that helps..

One year and four months later I am here again. The use of masks have helped me keep any virus away, but sadly I have got the dreaded virus (COVID-19). Thanks to the three vaccinations I have minor symptoms just like a head cold. Equanimity is exactly what I need to cultivate because I fought so hard to avoid getting infected but it happened and it is here. No point on getting angry or upset...its accepting what it is here right now. I feel much much better and will do this practice until I have recovered. When you filmed this class little you knew that you would help someone with this dreaded disease. With a lot of gratitude for all your teachings and wisdom. T x
