Considering the way my preferences concerning food have changed lately, I wonder if the body's own intuition guides us to what is needed to more balanced. I suppose as yoga and healthy food (meaning what is good for me, right now) is more and more the basis of life one becomes more finely tuned to these things. I have a question, is it possible that this balance can be affected by people? I mean, some people seem to drain energy away from you whereas others feel uplifting and energising. Or is this a completely different thing? Just a thought that came to mind...

Hi Anne, Good question and observations! Thank you for that. The answer is yes, people can affect your / the balance indeed. You can even start to practice adjusting your diet to find balance after or while you're with people - for instance, if you're around very yang (energetic, active, somewhat hyper) people, you could eat some more yin foods. I think you'll find more insights in the series on Ayurveda I created here on Ekhart Yoga, especially in the way people can affect your balance. Much love to you!

Food makes a difference! I tried your fennel smoothie Irina and was amazed how grounded I felt the whole day long. I never considered it for a smoothie before. I do like it as a bed with carrots, onions and celery for roasting chicken and making chicken stock. Very Yang. Thank you.
