A grounding practice to invite a smooth mind-space using an age-old Buddhist mantra Om Mani Padme Hum. 'Om' as vastness and scope, 'Mani' the jewel of our generosity. 'Padme' our wisdom mind and 'Hum' grounding our practice.
Tashi grew up using this mantra as a guide to recognise innate wisdom and generosity. Her mother was a student of Lama Yeshe in the 70's, until his passing in the mid 80's. You could start this mantra practice with this video support then keep it going in your own time.

Many thanks, Tashi! This is the first time I ever considered sending good intentions to those who might live outside of our solar system, but now I will surely include them in my meditations! Expansive!! I Iove that! Peace!
Tashi03.11.2017
Why limit ourselves to this little solar system right! I love this consideration as it gives a welcome scope to the vastness that is. Happy practice Trisha x

As you promised in your comment, mantra chanting is here on Ekhart Yoga. Thank you, so much, Tashi... I enjoyed this with all my senses. The vibration of your voice and singing bowl together with the vibration of my voice lift my spirit high :) I'm really hoping that I will be diligent enough and start chanting regularly because the peace of mind that I feel during and after chanting is priceless. I'm looking forward to more of your beautiful mantra chanting, Tashi... All my love... Namaste
Tashi03.11.2017
Hey there Jelena, glad to have been able to share with you, stay inspired because it’s quite a lovely practice to do regularly. I’ve developed such an effection for this mantra over the years, even just singing it under my breath as I’m doing other things invites a smoothness in mind, happy practice x

Now that, was an amazing experience! I decided last night that I've been all over the place with my energy, with work and other pressures, and have lost my focus. Lost me. I decided that I would commit to 20 mins asana and 10 mins of mantra every morning. The same practice, every morning, to realign my mind and body and daily actions. Then I clicked on this video and it is exactly what was missing for me........ Thank you ??☺️
Tashi03.01.2018
Hey there Emma, so glad to be able to share something so useful to you right now... an age old practice that continues to support us, I’m so grateful for this mantra too. A commitment of 30 mins of daily practice is wonderful, I'm sure it will have you feeling re-integrated so that the other activities start making sense again. Happy practice x

Although I found I couldn’t summon a long enough breath as the mantra got longer, I was happy to sit and listen to you Tashi and the beautiful sound of the bowl. It felt like tapping into something ancient and timeless. Thank you
Tashi03.11.2017
Hey Jo, it’s certainly a great challenge for the breathing! Feel free to take an extra breath though as it’s better not to feel any stress during the practice. I have found my breathing capacity has been greatly supported by this mantra practice. Ancient and timeless indeed x
Sarah28.10.2017

Tashi03.11.2017

Gael18.11.2017
hi tashi, one question, are the vibrations the most important or the meaning? this time i was trying to translate it whereas sometimes I just feel, what is the correct approach (probably both but I just want your interpretation) thanks! gael
Tashi16.12.2017
Hey there Gael, sorry it took me so long to reply, I’ve been traveling until recently. To answer your question I believe it depends on what you feel is important at the moment of experience. Sometimes I invest my attention in the meaning as it seems very relevant and helpful, sometimes I chant without thinking about the meaning at all and the vibration is all encompassing. It’s interesting to practice regularly enough to notice how subtle meaning and vibration can be experienced. We are truly subtle creatures. X Tashi
Gael29.10.2017
so nice, I could feel the vibration, thanks for sharing

Awesome! and this marvellous bowl sounds...I felt so much inside myself, during today very late night meditation! I started sharing this experience with you because I was having a strong sensation of loneliness; and it was sooo relieving! Many thanks Tasha
Tashi19.02.2018
Hey there Dimitra, Im so glad you joined me in this practice, I also find the mantra to be a reliable antidote to experiences of loneliness, may we all feel connected and whole exactly as we are, nothing missing... much love X

Jenni26.12.2017
Oh, how I needed this tonight. Thank you. Namaste
Adriana03.12.2017
I struggled to be able to take deep enough breaths to complete the mantra fully without having to gasp in between mani and padme. Please let me know if you have any advice. Thank you.
Tashi16.12.2017
Hello Adriana, finally getting back to your comment after returning from my recent travels. My advice is to relax and not struggle at all, take as many extra breaths as you need to, the extra breath is perfect between ‘mani’ and ‘padme’. This is a movement practice and just like any asana development it takes time for the muscles to adapt to demand. The breathing muscles strengthen just like other muscles and you’ll be delighted and perhaps surprised at how quickly your breathing will lengthen. No need to struggle though, a comfortable challenge is enough, regular practice will be helpful, and hopefully also enjoyable! Namaste, Tashi
Ellen18.01.2018
my first time joining in with chanting. my mind feels so still and calm thank you x
Teresa23.10.2020
Things happen for a reason...I did an earlier practice with you (very energetic!) and then decided to see if you had made a playlist or someone else has. And I found yours...and I found this practice on a day on a string of days where I need to reconnect with my internal wisdom. It was an amazing experience. It reads above you grew up with this mantra...did you chant it every day? Thank you!
