The psoas is a key muscle in our body. Connecting the upper and lower parts of the body, it is often overworked and weakened. This video will guide you through a sequence to release, stretch and strengthen your psoas.

Very useful class. Agree with Jo. Virabhadra 1 has never been so effortless for me before. Will do this a couple more times so I can remember the techniques. Thanks so much, Veronique.

Dear Veronique, thank you so much for this sequence. The psoas has been a problem for some time and it now feels so much better. Thank you!

I feel lighter after this sequence. Interesting. Thank you :)

Lovely sequence! One thing I love about yoga is that small adjustments allow us to feel so differently in a pose. Warrior I felt great - really nice and my lower back feels nice and stretched. :-)

A very useful class. I wish I have known this when I've started practising yoga. Thank you!
Jo21.08.2014
Thank you Veronique, I really liked the way that stretching out the back leg before coming up to warrior one really prevented that tweak in the lower back that I sometimes get. x

Thanks Jo and Nina. Jo, i always feel that by carefully adjusting the legs, lower back and neck, we can experience warriors 1 and 2 so differently! Nina, keep doing it ... I hope it will never be a problem again. Have a lovely day.

Thanks. I find the psoas fascinating:-) It does so much. We have to nurture it. To become aware of it is the main thing. To stretch other big muscles (like the biceps) you can always contract the opposite/ antagonist muscle (the triceps) but since the psoas doesn't have an antagonist muscle, you need to "feel" it.

Really enjoyed your class Veronique. I pulled a muscle within the psoas area a month ago whilst cycling and have been looking for a class that will help me to strengthen and recover. So glad I found your video! Thanks!

Thank you so much Veronique, just what I need, I've been having a lot of ache recently and this sequence has really helped to stretch and release. I will do it daily until I build strength again. Namaste :-)
