Hi Lisa,
When I flatten my shoulder blade on the floor (after doing the single roll in and press against the thigh) I get quite a cramping in my back; at the bottom of my back ribs on the same side. Any thoughts/ explanation appreciated.

Hi Alison, i would start by doing 20% of your range and by doing less repetitions. you are simply recruiting muscles in a way you have n't used before. It's hard to tell from here without seeing you if there is anything else underlying it, but do seek a professional opinion if it persists.

Beautiful! have re-arrange pecs, neck, shoulders! thank you Lisa!

Hi Lisa, I enjoyed this class and would like to delve further but could not find the shoulder magic class that you mention at the beginning.
Kirsty10.02.2020
That's curious - neither could I, Debra. However, I think one of these classes should work their 'magic' ;-)

Hi Lisa, I love this class. I noticed that I have a lot of tension in my shoulders, especially on my left side. I’m interested to know if it is possible to get rid of all the tension and knots with somatics, and if so, which classes would you recommend? Ive always had tension in my shoulders but it seems to be getting worse and I would love to get rid of it completely if possible. I would really appreciate your advice. Thank you!

Hi Jenny, here is class number 1 of the series Lisa refers to - the other classes in the series are listed below the class description: https://www.ekhartyoga.com/classes/freeing-the-muscles-of-the-front-body
Lisa28.10.2017
Hi Jenny,
I would start with the somatics series. It covers the whole body. Your brain is what is making your muscles tight, and it may take some time for your soma to repattern. Try any of the classes and work systematically through the various parts of your body for best results.

I wish there was a class by you everyday. You bring bliss to my body!! Really noticed my chest expand after this practice and my breath had room, felt amazing thank you. I don't have a desk job but I still hold a lot of tension in my shoulders so this was divine!!
Lisa05.03.2017
Hi Jennny, delighted you and your body of bliss have reunited. Time to celebrate.
CEREN11.03.2017
Thank you so much Lisa! Wonderful practice!
Rachael29.04.2017
This class has helped me immensely! I have been dealing with an aggravated tendon in my shoulder & I noticed an improvement immediately. I'm also surprised at how the muscles do indeed recall the new movement of my shoulder blades. Thank you!
Lisa29.04.2017
Your brain is a learning machine Rachael - and your muscles are pretty damn smart too ! Try some of the other somatics classes. You'll be surprised how they all help your shoulder in different ways - even if the class does n't seem to be shoulder related. Let me know how you get on.

Dear Lisa, I have had rounded shoulders for as long as I can remember and have also tried so many things to stretch those tight muscles. And within 15 min of your class I feel and observe tremendous changes! Lightness in my chest, freedom of the shoulder blades and shoulders well planted on the floor... Thank you so much for all the great classes you make available to us!
Namaste.
Lisa30.11.2017
Dearest Anna, I describe somatics as 'magic for muscles' sometimes. For as long as I've been teaching it people have shared experiences like yours and I am still humbled every time. I am so delighted for you that you are feeling the benefits of trying a new approach. Keep exploring, there's plenty of options. I look forward to hearing about your journey. Blessings, Lisa

Wonderful. Thank you :-) I also got the cramp sensation but under one blade. nothing dramatic it gave away very soon. And i was left feeling less tense, more at ease.
Ali02.10.2017
Thank you Lisa, this felt so amazing I didn't want to move afterwards. So grounded and wide through my upper back. Lush!

Hi Lisa,
Thank you for this helpful lesson!
I am a hairstylist and am wondering if you have anymore information or lessons on aiding the strains of the upperback/ribcage?
Thanks again :)
Lisa23.05.2017
Try the breathe more/stress less class Ali. There's some ball work there that would be very nice for you.
Jodi10.05.2017
Wonderful - thank you!
Gem07.06.2017

judith24.12.2017
Magic. Thank you!
Victoria04.04.2018
Thank you Lisa! This worked wonderfully. I have right thoracic scoliosis, rounded right shoulder and a more concave right side of my back...would you recommend doing this sequence on the right side only to balance my shoulders and spine? i realize this may be difficult to say without seeing me:)
Lisa10.05.2018
Hi Victoria,
Thanks for your question. I would recommend doing both sides but perhaps spending longer on the side that needs more tlc. Blessings, Lisa
Silke08.12.2018
A beautiful, gentle and on the other side intense practice for the shoulders. I really could feel the difference after we did one side. I need to get more into the somatice practice. I like it. Thank you!
