This yoga set works mainly on the pituitary gland and the 6th chakra or 3rd eye/Ajna. This gland is often called the master gland because it’s believed that it regulates all other glands. Our glandular system is in charge of our hormones so this set will help to balance your entire hormone system, as well as opening and strengthening all qualities of the 6th chakra, such as intuition, clarity of mind and power of projection.

Marlene, I have been looking for a teacher for some time who focused on the 6th chakra (no pun). I am looking for ways to strengthen my eyesight following a poor prognosis. I have tried an array of techniques, but none as convincing as your style. Thank you for appearing.

During the class I felt quite overexcited and dizzy... Every class I do with you, my mind gets more used to the breathing techniques and I can enjoy the benefits more, and of course look forward to the effects. Thank you :)

Yes, sometimes the practice can feel quite intense, make sure you rest enough in between the sets and have a long shavasana and do a grounding practice (like the one we have for the root chakra, so we create balance in the body). Let me know how you get on! <3

That really depends on how you feel, some people can do a chakra a day kundalini style, others do better with 1 or 2 kundalini classes per week and then do another type of yoga for the rest of practice. Depends on your body, flow and health of your energy system, and mental emotional state. Hope this gives you insight in how to plan your practice. <3

Dear Marlene, I have a question for you: If a chakra is not in balance because it is overly stimulated, will the Kundalini chakra practices help to balance this chakra or will it be stimulated even more? Since I feel like my sixth chakra is not in balance because it is overly stimulated. Thank you in advance, Marlene and by the way I am very pleased that you joined the Ekhart Yoga Team as a Teacher!

Hi Gesine, if you know that your 6th chakra is overstimulated, then I would advice to work more on the lower chakras and the heart, as your main practice and then do this practice occasionally, but WITHOUT the breath of fire. This will make the practice more mellow and less intense and will work more balancing and less stimulating. <3

I love sequences such as this that focus on specific chakras. You are right when you mentioned at the end that the sixth chakra can make you feel floaty - which is definitely how I felt by the end of this class. But it's a good feeling and one that will give me a serene feeling for the rest of my day. Thank you!

Yes, the third eye is giving you an different sense of being and expansion of your awareness. Make sure that you do grounding practices to integrate the energies! <3
