When Arjuna sees his family on both sides of a battlefield, he gets discouraged. He breaks down. It’s only because of his despair that he receives the teachings of Krishna with an open heart. In this class, you’ll hear what happened to the main characters of the Bhagavad Gita and how you can translate Krishna’s advice and use it in your own life. We’ll move through a short meditation, some heart and hip openers and an energizing sequence that’ll prepare you for your everyday challenges.

I've been doing this sequence for several times now and it really proves to be my favourite, well, ever actually. Depending how energetic I feel, I might add some side planks or a full wheel pose in, but this really is my best start into the day. Thank you so much for this program, Irina.
Irina04.10.2017
YAY! I love that, Eva! Thanks for sharing. Wishing you a wonderful (rest of the) day. x

What a beautiful class taught by a beautiful yogi. I have not been doing many classes with you yet but I will certainly do more. I like your voice and kindness. Thank you Irina.

Thanks so much for your kind words, Ulrike! Would love to 'meet' you in one if my other classes. xx

I loved the idea of engaging with the world instead of running away - as I wobbled in half moon pose, I thought about that and smiled through the challenge! Thank you Irina for a lovely practice.
Irina01.09.2017
So great, Jo! I love that the idea of engaging with the world made you smile in your wobbly half moon pose. :-) xx
Mary26.11.2017
I'm glad you explain some of the Bhagavad Gita cause I get lost, but enjoy when I hear bits and pieces explained. Is there a book that breaks it down? Great class.
Irina27.11.2017
Thanks, Mary! I guess it's easy (or common?) to get or feel lost in the Bhagavad Gita - it's quite a difficut text. I don't know of any books that break the entire Gita down, though The Living Gita by Swami Satchidananda comes close! Also, I love Stephen Cope's 'The Great Work of Your Life' - it's based on the core principle of the Bhagavad Gita. x Irina

I was so tired after this class even though it is such a short class,( because of paper cutting all day which affects my shoulders, arms and hands of course,) so I could really appreciate the savasana at the end! Thanks Irina, I just love these stories. Because of the anjali mudra story I think of the little baby in my hands every time we do that mudra during every yoga class. xxx
Irina13.09.2017
Mmm... can imagine you appreciated savasana at the end! And I can totally imagine cutting all day is super hard on your shoulders, arms & hands! I do have a few short neck/shoulder videos here, maybe they're helpful for you as well. And so sweet - thinking of the little baby in your hands every time you practice anjali mudra. Love it! x

Lovely class. Was feeling really tired this morning, and this was just the right mix of effort and ease for me, and the story telling was a bonus.
Irina09.09.2017
Mmm, glad to hear, Sara! Hope you're feeling a bit more energized now. x

Great day to start my morning practice, after finished all the preparation of Hurricane Irma. Need to surrender & be a yogi. Breath through the flow & wait for this storm. Thank you Irina. Namaste
Irina10.09.2017
Whew, Neny, that sounds like a true Bhagavad Gita style challenge! I hope you and your loved ones are safe and I hope the storm has passed. Sending love your way. x

Bhagavad Gita tale, thorough yoga sequence and decent length savasana. Don't know how you fitted all that into half an hour - but you did :-) As you may remember, my roots are in Buddhism. I can forget yoga has it's roots in Hinduism. Ever thought of doing an online course on the Bhagavad Gita? X
Irina24.12.2017
Thanks for the kind words and the wonderful idea, Adam! I never thought about doing an online Gita course yet - but now that idea has made a nest in my mind and I'm sure that, when the time feels right, it'll come out. And yes, I remember your Buddhist roots. :-) Thanks again. x Irina

Thank you Irina...I did not know you had this playlist...so finding it again it was my luck. You are totally right that we have to face in the practice challenges and welcome them. I certainly found the sequence around minute 15 not easy (do not know the name of the full pose). But...I found the will to let go and at the end this is what matters is it not? :) xx
Irina21.12.2020
You're welcome, dear Teresa! I'm glad you found the playlist and enjoyed this practice. The pose you're referring to is called Ardha Chandrasana, moving to Ardha Chandrachapasana. :-) And yes, letting go is what matters indeed. xx
