For this class, have two blocks and a bolster handy. In this class the focus is on listening to your own body, so you can learn to regulate your effort. Often in yoga, we tend to push ourselves. Doing this on a regular basis can lead to losing the feel for our natural boundaries. This practice invites you to a juicy and dynamic practice while feeling your boundaries and adjusting or modifying the asana to your personal needs. With some energising backbends to end the class. With, Runner's stretch, Parighasana, Virabhadrasana III, Virasana, Ustrasana.

I really appreciate your encouragement to "self regulate" and listen to my breath. I'll strive to put that into my practice from now on. (Also appreciate your metric conversion :) for those of us who just can't seem to change!) Awesome class, Sandra. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you so much!

Cecy14.01.2016
Great class, Sandra! Just what I needed today. It is definitely going to my favorites.
Catherine12.01.2016
I love your instruction, Sandra, but this one was problematic for me. I've spent the last six months to a year working on more stability of pelvis & spine (glutes & core) in PT, and I don't have near the range of motion I used to in some of these stretches; Gate was an eye-opener. I don't know where "approaching the pose gently" ends and "avoiding the pose" begins! It felt good anyway. Thank you.
Sandra13.01.2016
Thank you for your comment. For many of us, feeling where our limit is, is difficult, if not impossible, to feel. Maybe because even though we try, we still approach our bodies mostly from the mind. An injury or instability is often "blessing in disguise." I say this with respect and understanding for the pain or discomfort you may be in. I have learned (and still am) that I can learn to listen and let my body tell me where and how deep to go. It helps me to see my own mind and judgements more clearly. Move slowly and stay well within the parameter of your limits. I hope this helps! Good luck
Teresa13.01.2016
Great class Sandra! I was able to open up and relax about it. I'm learning to not take my yoga practice so seriously...so to speak. LOL!! In other words, get out of my own way. It really does improve your postures tremendously.
Melinda09.05.2016
Thank you Sandra! I needed all the reminders to feel; it was so easy for me to forget! Namaste.
Tannis12.01.2016
Thanks, Sandra. I enjoyed your class this morning, and really appreciated "your mind has opinions" reminder – made me laugh out loud as I was judging myself in that exact moment.

Sandra02.02.2016
Haha, Jo, yes, you are not the only one! Where do you think I get that "wisdom"? (wink wink)

Hey Sandra, thanks for the warm up, I did 7 miles after this, love this short class! ॐ
Joslyn23.01.2016
Thank you Sandra for a wonderful practice. As a busy yogs instructor, mom, wife, athlete, and now college student I have forgotten/ been so busy to take mat time for myself in asana form most days (5 min in the car between classes or at a traffic light to breathe and clear my mind is all I can do some days.) This short practice has hot the spot on all the muscles that needed it and allowed myentail chatter to subside. Namaste.
Sandra04.02.2016
You are so welcome Joselyn. Yes, those 5 mins in your car can be the difference in your day... Take care:)
Carmit30.01.2016

Yoga has a way of delivering just what you need, at the perfect time. This year I set my intention to listen to my body and inner voice so I could be kinder to myself. And this morning your class was delivered. Thank you Sandra.

Hello Sandra, I am Devi. Live in US. I would like to take 500hr teacher training with you. Is there online training classes available? Kindly let me know. Thank you so much for ur fabulous classes:) Namaste
DurgaDevi31.01.2016
Thank you Sandra.
Sandra25.01.2016
Hello Devi sorry for the late reply (dus to some tech problems). First of all; thank you:) I currently do not offer any teacher trainings (online or live) I am sorry I cannot help you with that. You could keep track of my trainings via this site, my website or Facebook (sandra carson yoga). Maybe in the future I will be, but for the moment I do not have anything planned... Esther Ekhart might offer a teacher training next year. I can highly recommend that one, though! Good luck!

Hélène17.12.2024
Thank you, Sandra. This class was just the right one this morning, with my body and its limitations in charge, for once, and not my mind. Thanks for your reminders to let the body and the breath decide.
Sandra26.12.2024
Dear Hélène, that is truly one of the most beautiful compliments I can receive about my teaching... Thank you! x
Maria29.03.2017
Namaste!
diane28.02.2018
Loved the exploration of limits. I tend to push, but really refocused on how much. Those back bends are really tough for me, especially sitting on the knees. Thank you so much, Namaste.
Sandra05.03.2018
Hi Diane, taking it a bit more gently might give you better results in your backbending because your body will be more relaxed and get the chance to open up more :) For painful knees, you can try placing a blanket under your knees or folding up your mat. Hope that helps you! Namasté
Saskia09.03.2018
Great work out again, you are so relaxed, which helps. Thanks!
Michelle28.03.2020

Sandra02.04.2020
Ah, that is so good to read! It's always here for you! Love 💕
Teresa18.09.2019
Sandra...so out of my comfort zone into more standing poses...and of course challenging my balance which is not great but perseverance will take me there. Hero Pose (reclined) is difficult but with the blocks it was a good modification. Patience...perseverance and of course lots of gratitude to you for being such a wonderful teacher and to my little body who is trying its very best! :))
Sandra23.09.2019
Yes! That’s it: to not run away from the challenges and love and honor yourself through it all! Beautiful ❤️
