A therapeutic sequence to support the physiological side of healthy kidneys. Squeezing, compressing, giving space and warmth, this sequence has 9 poses to stimulate the flow of life, blood and fluids through the kidneys to eventually lead to deeper layers of their energetic qualities in life. Focus here on the organs themselves and over time, explore more through meridians and lifestyle choices. Props: bolster, block, belt and blanket.

Love this class. Loved it. I actually need to work this into my regular practice either weekly or monthly. I am sure I have weakness in my kidneys.

Checking this out over a double espresso... Not an ideal combination, or perhaps is that exactly what I should do, combine the two? A friend of mine, health practitioner working with natural remedies , tells me the kidneys might need up to 24 hours to deal with a cup of coffee and by consuming said lovely fluid two or three times a day a person is by definition a walking coffee machine ... Any thoughts on this, David? In any case, a bit of TLC to the kidneys would surely not go amiss, so I will do the sequence, just to make sure.
David16.12.2016
Hi Anne, Everything in moderation... including moderation :-) Yes, the kidneys need time to process coffee, but just like drinking alcohol, if you drink water through the day and moderate your coffee, the kidneys will be fine... oh.. .and do this class :) Personally, my coffee habit is quite irregular... sometimes a few a day and other times week(s) without. All in balance!
Jenny19.12.2016
hmm sounds like I'd better do this class - thanks for asking Anne!
Annemarie18.04.2019

Thank you David! note: either do i have super long legs or my yoga belt is too short - and i thought its a normal one... i had to use 2 then it was fine :) def what my kidneys needed! namaste xxx
David13.01.2017
Hi, Most likely, the belt is 'too' short... putting 2 of them together is a great option! Well done :)

Fantastic practice on this cold winters day ! Thank you so much David, (from the bottom of my heart and kidneys;-) I loved it, I could and can feel the energy in my kidneys moving which is wonderful as I tend to have weakness there. I will be repeating this practice <3 <3 <3
David15.12.2016
Yes, and remember that the kidney's LOVE warmth... so make sure you have a warm water bottle nearby at bed time!
Armande15.12.2016
Very, very, very nice class.....For me especially the massage of the kidney's and the blanket on the kidney's at the end. My belt was much to short; my knees were bended instead of strechted out. Is that OK for the kidney's? I think i have to buy a bigger/longer belt;-)
David16.12.2016
Hi Armande, Thank you very very very much :)... In winter, I use a hot water bottle on the kidneys too! It does require a long belt but if you do it with your knees bent, no problem. The focus is not on stretching the legs, but putting the pressure on the kidneys, so no worries

Perfect. Not at all what I had planned for this morning, but evidently exactly what was needed...... Thank you David (and Mirjam!)

Will definitely be going back to this class. Loved doing child's pose with a warm blanket over my kidneys; never thought it would make such a difference. Makes you want to keep them warm all throughout these chilly days and that's exactly what I think I'll do. As always, thank you for a lovely sequence!
David19.12.2016
Thank you... and yes, the kidneys LOVE the warmth. Try with a warm water bottle too!
Louise18.12.2016

Yes yes, a coffee and moderate alcohol drinker, but also a consumer of copious amounts of water! Some say I drink too much water, certainly feels that way when I have to get up 2 to 3 times a night to pee! I love my kidneys, for all they do all day and night, and they sure love me now after this practice. Thanks David!x
Katherine11.06.2022
