Are you someone who puts everyone else’s needs before their own, or do you tend to worry a lot, or have stomach ache or digestive problems? If so, this Yin class - which will boost your digestive system, open up your hips and release the spine - is for you!

By stimulating these areas - which are connected to the Spleen & Stomach meridians - with various Yin poses you will energize the energetic quality of Earth.José will explain how your body, emotional state or energetic state will show you when this elemental energy Earth is out of balance or needs a boost.

To aid the process of self-nurture and digestion of emotions, food or thoughts we will also use pranayama to calm the mind and Yin poses to stimulate the hands, feet, wrists, ankles, and free your hips, belly and spine. If emotions, thoughts, memories or physical release come up, allow yourself to observe them. Anything that comes up is there for a reason; it wants to be seen and experienced. Different options are given for each pose, so you can adapt them to your needs.

Props: 2 blocks, blanket, bolster, cushion.

This class is part of the Yin Yoga and the 5 Elements program.

Another great class. I've done this one so many times, but today i have been recovering from stomach flu, and it really helped remove the pain. Thank you Jose.

That was the perfect practice for a cold, dark Autumnal night. Thank you, Jose, I'm craving Yin yoga at the moment and this class was just what I needed. Much love to you 💜🙏🏼✨

Beautiful practice Jose - re broken wing pose I'm not sure I am doing this correctly and wonder if you can offer some guidance. I can't get my face to rest on my arm so I am modifying it and just letting my head hang with the forehead not touching the floor. Is that an okay modification since I feel it in my arm - it doesn't seem to open my shoulder but instead stretching my arm on the outside. Thank you again Jose - you're a very gifted teacher. Your instruction and timing are really helpful for a quiet introspective practice.

Dear Char, It is also great to feel the stimulation in the outside of your arm, but if you want to reach the shoulders, you can try sitting up in Butterfly pose and then grabbing with your right hand your left knee and the left hand the right knee and fall forward. Let me know if that helps. If not then I would have to see you doing the pose in order to be able to give you a adjustment that suits you. If you would like that we can organize a video chat. Please email me then to: jose@yogatreat.eu

Hi José, In the first pose, the one where we are stretching our shoulder by holding our face, I noticed that my throat felt compressed (both on left and right poses). I know that my throat chakra is unbalanced at the moment and was wondering whether it was something to do with this, or whether I was perhaps doing the posture slightly wrong. What are your thoughts?
Roberta04.10.2023
Do you have a name for the side lunge pose (done after "lizard" in this series? Thank you, Jose
