Thank you so much Katy! Your tutorials are very helpful; I find your explanations very clear, first time that I get an idea on what this shoulder ring is about. Will practice the preparation with the socks more often, it really gives me a better feeling for the muscles to switch on.

YES! Welcome to those muscles!!!

Handstand is something I did early on, with a much younger body, with no problem. As the years have passed, the experience of the poses have changed and some things that were once easily accessible feel like mountains to climb (hello, handstand). It was lovely to take the time to watch this strictly as a tutorial, then to play with the tips in my own time. Thank you!

So welcome Clare, glad it served!
annabella01.03.2018
thanks katy! it's the first time I get into full elbowstand with no fear!
Katy02.03.2018
Exceptional - enjoy the play now - x

Thanks Katy, I still struggle with Handstand, the socks are a handy way to slide in and out, I have also used sliders for moving furniture, (bought them at the hardware store) they are about the size of your palm, nice to use on a carpet if you don't have the wooden floor.

Katy, one more question, I can get into supported headstand with no problem, it did take me a while, but can pop right into it, but never quite seem to get the handstand or forearm or elbow stand, does one of these poses come easier for most people than the other. Thanks you.
Katy09.01.2018
Heh Frances
For sure you aren't alone with the challenge of handstand, it really is a pose to just keep chipping away at and over much time you will start to see some small changes in the right direction... Love your version of the socks, thanks for the tip!
Katy10.01.2018
Frances, yes usually the headstand is 1st base and the others then take a lot more time to achieve. 2nd is usually forearm as there is a bit more of a base to balance on and then lastly handstand as only the hands to balance on.

8.27. Elbow dog. When I used to do that pose, I put my head into my interlaced fingers. I noticed you advice to let the head up ? Thanks a lot for your help. Isabelle
Katy06.05.2020
Thanks for your patience Isabelle... The forearm stand/elbow stand is with the head off the floor, head on the floor in hands is headstand.. which is a different pose... does that make sense.....?
Or am I still not quite answering your questions :-)
isabelle04.04.2020
But is it ok if I put my head inside the bowl of my fingers tips interlaced ?
Katy06.04.2020
Can you be more specific to the exact moment and pose you are talking about please Isabelle so I can answer with clarity x
isabelle04.04.2020

Jess05.02.2023
Thanks for the tips. What I'm missing is how to fall... I don't want ot learn with a wall..
Katy06.02.2023
Heh Jess - thanks for your question. How to fall....?
Best to cartwheel the legs out of it, rather than flip over into wheel, over time the back can feel those flips and not in a great way for some.
You can try this with the wall and is demonstrated well here:

Hope that helps you :-)
