In this session you will stretch and release tensions in the lateral part of your upper and lower body (the liver and gallbladder meridian pathways). Great session to balance out these energies and to free any emotional imbalance.

Thank you so much José, this was a really wonderful class! Meditation and breath were amazing. Doing the breath really stimulated the upperbody in a lovely way. Never done shoe lace side bend variation before and it was really challenging for me. I felt a lot of resistance and irritation (never experienced that before in Yin!) so that was new to me and i think a sign that there's a lot of blockage in the liver and gal blather meridian. I felt really really stiff coming out of the poses (both sides) Also something new was the fact that i could do full hero pose without pain in the SI joint! Don't know why that was cause i haven't been able to do the pose ever before without extreme pain in that area. Maybe practicing yin variation in shoe lace side opened up the SI joint area? Anyway...a lot of resistance during but a lot of release after the practice. I did the practice yesterday as well and my whole face and neck were blushing and warm throughout the day! Now, just after practcing today it feels even more warm and comfortable. I think you're a wonderful teacher and hope to practice in real when you're back at the new yoga school. Enjoy your vacation! Warm regards, Jutri

Amazing! Great instruction.

That was such a lovely class. I'm not used to stretching those areas much, and wow, they needed it. I found even square pose difficult, but managed to support both knees with a block and bolster to keep the stretch without hurting, so it's worth it even if you're very tight or a beginner. The twist at the end was new to me, and such a satisfying pose for my body. Thank you.

Tough but ultimately good. Thank you José.

Jose, I came to this class because I could feel my gall bladder playing up and I was getting snappy; I had interestingly been sitting at my computer all day, so my neck was hurting. Wow, what a relief and release I did not realize how much tightness, heaviness was in my gluts and hips It was so wonderful and liberating to hold these poses and I felt like my anger was dissolving away as my stomach gurgled and my neck pain left me. thank you so much for a healing and very special class which I will return to... Your voice is so comforting

Great you all loved it! To Jutri, unfortunately I won't be teaching classes at the NYS coming month due to too bussy schedule. Hope to see you again when I am back :)

Lovely class, thank you Jose. I couldn't believe how quickly the hour flew by, your voice and instructions were so gentle, relaxing, and encouraging. I feel wonderful now, ready to face the rest of the day with more calm and inner peace.

Soshuten (probably spelled wrong) and the breathing exercise at the beginning were new for me. Very nice. And a wonderful class as usual. Thank you.

Thank you as always Jose. I feel so much calmer and more centred after this practice.
Michelle15.03.2021
that practice was challenging for me in some areas of my body. loved how you explained working on the meridans and an understanding of the internal organs.... thank you so much NAMASTE JOSE!!
José16.03.2021
Dear Michelle, hopefully the challenging part was because of the intensity and not because of not able to find the right pose for your body to target the meridian area.

Thank you, Jose. A challenging class. And as you said, anger came up. A challenging reminder that breathing and letting go is the pathway towards calming the mind, which, at first, resists so many of the sensations that come up in the various poses...I look forward to repeating this class regularly and watching my journey with it.

thanks so much this was AMAZING!!! I soooo needed this yin yoga class. I was able to 'touch' other places that I've never done before,,,, but then again,, I am very new at this. It was very interesting to feel the right from the left,,, the left area was almost like 'pleasure" .. not in a sexual way,,, but just a very pleasant feeling, the left side was a little 'painful' but eventually 'gave in",, and was just simply there,, namaste

A typical calming, yet kind of vigorous José class ;) As Carol mentioned before in the comments: the hour flew by. And my butt cheeks feel wonderfully loose :) Thank you.

Thank you Jose for this class. For me it was challanging. But in this way I can really feel the work that I need to do on my body and mind. Namaste and thank you.
Kristi07.03.2019
Hello José! I have a question: How the gall bladder meridian stimulation affects in case the gall bladder is removed surgically? Is there any point to stimulate this meridian then?' Or does this practise have negative effects then? Sincerely grateful, Kristi
Kristi08.03.2019
I understand now! Thank you!
José08.03.2019
Dear Kristi, Eventhough the organ is not present anymore energetically it is still present. So no negative effects. Also the body is always looking for balance, so any postures will not create any imbalanc if a certain energy is balanced.
Ana Kumlien04.06.2020
Hi Jose what a great class! May I ask you, for the end positions with the knee bent, I felt really big stiffness on my foot, I could barely sit on the bent the leg-This was something new for me and post lockdown as I was really really mobile before. Are there any slight adaptations of the position that could still be beneficial, like sitting on a block to raise the hip? Thanks so much for the lovely class. Ana
José09.06.2020
Dear Ana, You mean half saddle pose or the twist. I think half saddle. You can place a rolled up blanket under the instep so your ankle is extending less and there is less tension. If it’s the thighs that are tight, you can try to lift the hips up, but beaware of not too much pressure in the lower back. If that’s then the case use a pillow or bolster under your spine to rest upon.
Georgi02.02.2020
Jose, do you think this practice suitable during the first trimester of pregnancy?
Georgi05.02.2020
Thank you, José. I also thought detoxifying could have an impact.
José04.02.2020
Dear Georgi, better not do this. As gall bladder stimulation is detoxifying it can have a letting go effect. It might not be that case at all, but just to be sure, better not do this class.
Barbara20.04.2020
Enjoyed the shoulder work also in this class. Thanks
Paula14.07.2020
A very different yoga experience, thank you. It's both challenging and releasing to sink and hold poses for so long and definitely felt things shifting in my centre, almost like I wanted to be loud and noisy! Question - in half saddle pose I struggle to lean onto the top of my foot (same if I'm sat on my heels for very long) - the top of my foot quickly gets sore, and I also have a bunion that gets in the way. Should I keep stretching to improve foot flexibility, or adapt in some way? Many thanks.
José04.09.2020
Dear Paula, Is it compression of the bone with the floor you experience that creates the soreness? In that case you can roll up a blanket and place it under the ankle joint so the instep of the foot is not touching the floor. Or is it tensile tension on the top of the foot you experience? In that case you can do ankle stretch pose seated: https://www.ekhartyoga.com/resources/yin-poses/ankle-stretch and work step by step to open up the tension in the top of the foot. I hope this helps. Namaste, José
valentina11.04.2021
question: bones fusing together in the sacrum. arent they already fused in the sacrum? :-) thanks
José18.06.2021
Dear Valentina, yes the bones in the sacrum are fused. But I was talking about the SI-joint. The ilium bone fusing together with the sacrum is not what we want to occur. :)
Bella18.04.2024
It is an excellent lesson! I downloaded your lesson about lower back years ago and use it in special cases. Today it was a MOMENT of liver meridian. Thank you!
