Heat is a catalyst for change. During this yoga class we create lots of heat! Heat through core work at the beginning of class, heat through really fast and fun Sun Salutations, heat through holding some yoga poses for a minute at a time, like Dolphin pose, Warrior 1/ Virabhadrasana I, Warrior II and Warrior III and Chair pose / Utkatasana.. You really get a chance to burn through some old outdated emotions, beliefs or whatever else you would like to throw in the heat of your practice. Join me yogi's..

Lovely class - and wonderful relaxation at the end... It's so nice to sort of drift off into half dozing with the soothing and comforting sound of your voice in the background, especially after a slightly more challenging class! I'm daily thankful I found my way to Ekhart Yoga - namaste!

Esther, I have been off the mat for some time. This was a good class to come back to and it reminded me of why I started yoga in the first place; you as a teacher encouraged all of us at home to be exactly where we were in our yoga practice and accept it. You are an excellent teacher! So now this is my first day back and I can feel my legs and back are thanking me for this practice!

I really enjoyed this classic with you two today. Definitely had some stuff to burn. And alignment wise: Again I've been wondering how to do what you instruct us to in downward dog: take the top of the thighs back. I just don't get it. ... sorry. :( I think it might have something to do with engaging the legs and pulling the kneecaps up???

Hi Kiki, try this instruction standing in mountain pose, when you literally do it there, it means your bum shifts back a bit and lower back arches. Same in dd, to lengthen the lower back.

Loved this class. Learnt some new things, too. I realized how much more stronger (than I have realized before) the backleg needs to be in warrior one and two - thanks to staying in these positions in one minute. :) Was also fun with the sunsalutations in the fast pace. Can't get enough of this class; thank you so much! Holding Dolphin for 3 minutes has released a lot of tension I didn't realize was hiding in my arms—and I suddenly find myself able to lift easily into full wheel with my new found strength! Delightful!! I was surprised to find dophin pose much easier than I thought it should be based on what you were saying, especially as I have very weak shoulders and they burned worse than anything else during warrior one and two. I took a delayed-timer photo of myself doing dolphin after the class and much to my surprise my alignment was nowhere near as bad as I feared. I've been doing yoga with you several times a week since feberuary and I finally think I am starting to gain some strength. Thank you so much!!

Exactly what I needed Esther! I'm off on sick with an inflammation in my elbow , so I didn't do much of the Yoga lately. But I felt I needed some strong practice. I was very cautious with my elbows, so Salutations and that Dolphin wasn't as perfect as it should be, but it was for me, for NOW. Actually I did the Puppy pose first. I love Warrior poses and they really woke me up! Feeling great! Thank You very, very much! I adore You and Your teaching <3 Namaste _/\_ David

Thank you for this class Esther. I have been needing a way to build on my practice and I think holding the poses for a minute reminded me for the need to push myself. I was able to hold all of them except warrior 3 but almost made it for the full minute. So encouraging! Also it helped me refresh to be able to face the rest of my day with a positive and energetic spirit. Namaste!

Fabulous Esther :) My comments are usually questions...hope that's ok ? I found myself gulping for breath, which sent me into chaos, I felt short changed and slightly panicked (perhaps I am a l-o-n-g and deliberate breather in my yoga practice as I transition from pose to pose?) ...so my question is how to keep the pace and take a full breath i.e. inhale and exhale without gulping.... sucking in and forcing out? It does not feel quite right to take a shorter breath because I feel this diminishes the 'everything', Thanking you in advance, Regards Julie

Hi Julie, adapt.. take it slower, which is absolutely fine! , Or take less deep breaths and explore and observe why it makes you uncomfortable. Of course just for the experience this can be interesting too...
