Esther will give you a few tips about do's and don'ts before going to bed, and a few poses to practice before you step into your bed. Finally, a breathing exercise while already in bed. Yoga before bed doesn't have to take long, even 5 minutes will make a big difference to your sleep.

Thank you, Esther! There is nothing quite as precious as a good night's sleep. I seem to hold a lot of tension in my hips and legs, so I find for my body that a sequence of legs up the wall, hugging my knees to my chest, placing the foot on the opposite knee hip opener pose, followed by a gentle twist brings so much relief and comfort! Would anyone have suggestions for "light" reading? I've definitely had the experience of reading something before bed that agitated me and then I really had trouble sleeping. Thank you for any suggestions!

It’s so hard to turn off the brain for me recently - the addition of a baby in my life has certainly added to that difficulty. ;-) These are wonderful tips - I find that focusing on breathing helps me fall asleep so much faster! I normally count my breath for a few minutes but the left nostril breathing is also so calming. Thank you for the tips!

Hi Esther. Thank you for your tips. I am quite sensitive to Valerian too. It actually is THE calming herb in Russia where I grew up. My personal favorite to add on would be Legs up the wall. Andrew once told in one of his classes that this posture gives you perspective and I totally agree. Namaste Masha

Thank you for the winding down evening classes. These have helped me very well finding and creating a routine for good night sleep. I combine the yoga with yoga nidra, that are developped for sleeping. So I sleep better now, Altough there are still some restless nights and pills sometimes. Anyway thank you for the sleep well classes, very helpfull! Namasté.

Thank you Esther, I think this really helped me... I had to get up early this morning and so didn't have as much sleep as I usually like, but I felt refreshed and I think that may be because I slept deeply after this routine. Thank you! My tip is to count your breath when trying to fall asleep - I usually count backwards from 1000, counting down on every exhale, and I almost always fall asleep doing this. Also lavender oil - A few drops on my pillow/ wrist or in a hot bath before bed really helps me to relax. Sweet dreams! x
