Sheetkari Pranayama is an alternative option to Sheetali for those who can’t roll their tongue. This cooling pranayama refreshes the body and mind and purifies the blood. Don't do it in extreme cold weather and avoid it if you have a cold, cough, asthma, tuberculosis, breathing problem, lung disorder, arthritis, low blood pressure or chronic constipation problems.

Hi Janina, If I understand your question right. Yes you place your tongue behind the upper teeth, while breathing in. Hope this helps.

Now I'm at the end of the pranayama program. It has been very interesting and benificial. There is a lot to play around with. I'm rather taken in by the kapalabhati. For days with out asana I find that it is a very energising way to "move" the body. Also I have to focus a lot so a meditation has a nice start with some rounds of kapalabhati too. thank you to all of you teaching this vital part of the yoga.
