EkhartYoga joins YogaEasy family

Von Kirsty Tomlinson

We have some big news to share with you! YogaEasy has joined forces with YogaEasy to work on our shared vision – to bring the best that online yoga has to offer to as many people as possible. Together we will be able to offer you even greater expertise and more functions - including a brand new app - to make your home practice even easier to integrate and maintain, and to ensure our longevity within an ever-competitive market.

Who are YogaEasy?

Founded in 2010 by Dr. Henrike Fröchlin, Hamburg-based YogaEasy was Germany’s first online yoga studio and has teachers such as Anna Trökes, Dr. Ronald Steiner, Nicole Bongartz and Barbara Noh on its team. Henrike, shares our own founder – Esther's – goal to make high-quality yoga classes and teaching accessible and available to an even larger audience.

What are the main changes?

Rest assured – EkhartYoga’s videos, articles, programs, teachers and the behind the scenes crew will remain the same and you will still have access to all your favourite classes and teachers. The main change is that we’ll be introducing additional features (and the aforementioned app), which are intended to make your experience with us – and with yoga! – easier and more enjoyable. The key difference for our German friends is that they will have access to all of EkhartYoga’s classes too!

Eventually there may be one brand name, but the content will continue to be created by the existing teams and teachers in the Netherlands and Germany. Since the regions and markets are different, the individual communication channels – newsletters, social media, etc – will remain the same.

The heart of EkhartYoga

Change is sometimes unsettling but we want to reassure you, our members, that though there may be some external changes, the heart of YogaEasy remains the same. We are committed to providing you with an online space which invites you to trust and nurture yourself; supports you in building physical and emotional resilience, and encourages you to develop a mindful and compassionate connection with yourself, others and the world around you.

We will, of course, keep you updated about any developments and very much look forward to taking this next big step with you.

"I am delighted to be working with YogaEasy. Together we can bring the beautiful and transformative practice of yoga to even more people. Our family is growing and I'm excited about what we can bring to the yoga world!"

Hello. I am happy for the EY team as they grow their business success. Kirsty was kind to acknowledge that the change may be unsettling—today I found myself concerned and a bit sad that the “EkhartYoga” identity may not be much longer. It may be silly to worry about a brand, but I have been able to find so much peace in the practices here. I am grateful for the functional and inner/spiritual approaches that I have not found in the in-person classes in my region. I am sure YogaEasy is a fine company with much to offer, but as a daily user of the browser-based version of this site, I wonder things like whether the app will be mandatory? Will the platform become multilingual? Will Esther and the other wonderful teachers who are still active contributors to EY continue to add to the collection of classes? When will this change take place? How will it affect billing? What direction will my practice take? I will look forward to these answers as the information rolls out, and I promise to try not to worry. I know that change and growth are healthy, and I’m sure I will find a lesson in its midst.
