How to make turmeric and ginger tea

Von Esther Ekhart

I drink this tea whenever I feel under the weather. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antiviral properties. Ginger is great for digestion, combats nausea and is also anti-inflammatory and antiviral.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger or fresh ginger
  • Fresh lemon
  • Maple syrup - optional

Directions

Boil all the ingredients together for 10 minutes. Squeeze a good bit of lemon into your tea. Use the maple syrup as a sweetener, if needed. Pour your tea into a cup through a strainer.

I have made this tea so many times since I watched the video a couple of years ago. I have made it for friends when they are sick too. Far simpler than over-complicated turmeric tea recipes elsewhere. Thanks so much for sharing, it’s a keeper!

I love some ginger&lemon tea, it pleasantly burns the throat :) Never thought to add turmeric, I use turmeric when I cook my vegetables and put it at the last minute so all properties remain intact. Will test this tea soon, thank you :)

Nice tea! I used lime instead of lemon ( because I had no lemon!) and as sweetener I used honey. Thank you!
